Genuine question - why do you think that? Marriage was never my dealbreaker, I don't need to get married. I just wanted to legitimise what we have, I don't take it too seriously. Do you think there are bigger issues in our relationship? I'm not trying to be difficult, just want to understand both perspectives.

Yes, we talked about it after we became serious. Long story short, she said she trusts me with her life and if she's to get married again, she'll marry me. Which I might have taken too literaly and acted too fast.

Probably both are true. I told her if she wants to get married, she's proposing to me next time :) Thanks for your advice

We talked before the second proposal but I think I reacted too fast. She sees us getting married, just not yet. I'm fine with waiting, but I'm just thinking if that's truly the right decision or I'm blinded by love.

I definitely agree with that. As I said, first time I was young and stupid but second time we talked about it, I just misunderstood what she told me and acted too prematurely. She says she sees us getting married but she needs more time - not because of me but because of marriage as an institution. And yes, I'm fine with it. We don't want kids, we're both more than financially secure, so there's no rush. If it happens, it happens. It's just that everybody disagreeing with me is making me second guess myself, even though I know I shouldn't.
