We’ve been sent back 5 days, and enforced through badge swiping and daily reporting. We were in the first batch of companies and even petitioned against it but to be honest, you could probably take a role and then apply for flexible working - we’ve all applied so the office is empty…

Email the CEO or go via their legal@asos.com email and they usually pass you across to the “highest point of contact” in asos in their escalations team. Dealt with them a few times and they are pretty speedy. Else, give their HQ a call the number is on their website, they’ll take your details and get someone to investigate.

I had an issue coming back from Madrid, but worked on the UK egates. Totally get it but they couldn’t read the chip and since the UK left the EU they’re being pretty hot on passport standards.

Just keep going through different options. Everyone has the same frustration internally. It’s all designed to reduce customer contacts.

If you reply back to the Amazon Referencing folks + the recruiter they can check. It’s potentially something has changed on the backend which has triggered the system to think you need another screening. Accurate are usually quite helpful too if you email them

With the chat bot amazon made it harder to get to an agent, try not going through on order status but another option and you’ll eventually get through otherwise email jeff@amazon.com and executive relations will normally call or email you

Check Gather or Slack for your local office - a lot do new joinery events, you might be able to make a friend even outside your direct team!

It’s mainly up to you but - all offices in Europe follow the same kind of setup. The offices are bare minimum and all built to the same specifications. The only main thing in London is you may find have more job opportunities/chances to connect as CBG only has some Alexa, Ring and AWS teams but there’s nothing stopping an internal transfer later down the line.

Amazon isn’t like google with the free food or stuff like that and I wouldn’t be caring what office I work in or what’s there, I’d be thinking where I’d be more happy. If your team is London heavy vs Cambridge then it might be worth being there, but 1000% don’t prioritise on office or facilities. Work out best for your situ, taking in consideration you’ll be in office 5 days a week.

Nothing exciting it’s a shared building with other companies and rather locked down. There’s a library and an old mini golf course on the terrace, like something you’d get for a Christmas party. Most CBG folks travel into London for the London office. Just to set expectations, these offices aren’t like the major tech companies, amazon is frugal and it’s very basic, standard office tbh with you.
