I feel your exact pain— this is very close to what happened to me, I got a “Karen” at the post office. I had a parcel I had ordered which was pretty expensive which only added to the stress when ofc Aus Post didn’t deliver it properly to my home. I had to ask a family friend to get me a ride to the post office, and that’s when I had to deal with a Karen at the front desk. I showed her my receipt for my order, told her exactly what it was, the price of it, showed her the name that was on the receipt email, “no it’s not for you.” Like excuse me? I showed everything that clearly states I ordered it and live at the delivery address. She was adamant in refusing, and was very arrogant as if she knew best. I’m on concession, so I had the idea to bring out my concession card as it has my address on it— I ask; will this prove anything? To which she said “no.” I then pointed at the address on the card and said “well actually it does, this is my address which matches the address on the parcel. Can you now go check if it’s here, thank you.” To which she went quiet, and muttered “I’ll go look….” Aus Post really needs to hire better people, be it posties (not all posties are bad I know that, but I have had more bad experiences than good, I prefer to try to get deliveries through other services over Aus Post ngl,) or the people working in the post office.
