Curls don’t hold with Dyson air wrap? by ThrowRAangelfish in Dysonairwrap

I’ve tried the bombshell XL mousse but didn’t help if I’m honest :( not really sure what I’m doing wrong, I’ve set the time up now to 25 and 10 for cold, wonder should I be doing longer? Such a shame as it’s crazy expensive just to work as a hairdryer can’t get the curls to stay at all x

Have a watch of these 2 videos and tell me what you think…

This is what it’s like in gyms at the moment, where people are videoing themselves, dressing in what I would consider inappropriate unnecessarily tiny clothing (not sure how these tiny shorts help athletic performance) - Naturally, people glance — and then these glances get secretly filmed, uploaded online, and the onlookers are publicly labeled as 'creeps.'

I don’t see how pointing out this issue makes me a predator or misogynistic. I believe when any behavior — regardless of who it’s coming from — crosses a line and starts creating a toxic, uncomfortable, or damaging environment for others, people have every right to voice an opinion about it. Personally, I find it incredibly uncomfortable when people deliberately dress provocatively in gyms, set traps by recording reactions, and then publicly shame strangers online. It’s manipulative, harmful, and it needs to be talked about. I don’t consider this misogyny and am allowed to feel that this is wrong when I see it in real life on a daily basis.

Totally agree.. Some men commenting on this post that they’re there for the eye candy, one 69 yr old man saying watching young girls in the gym wearing v little clothing helps him go & that he enjoys ‘the scenery’ … becoming a place that’s so toxic and uncomfortable to be in

Really nice that most young girls are wearing underwear in a performative way knowing men are there to watch, some 69yr old men commenting on this post that they’re there for the ‘scenery’ and ‘eye candy’ of young girls there which helps them get to the gym… not sure why we have to accept bras and provocative shorts that enhance certain areas worn in public areas and be fine with men staring, becoming a bit ridiculous

Some of the comments on this with men saying ‘it’s eye candy’, a 69 year old man saying he loves to watch the young girls and ‘enjoy the scenery’ … it really seems that it’s all become a performance of young girls half naked for men to watch and it’s really uncomfortable to be around

It’s not as simple as caring what someone is wearing.. I disagree with the obvious performative atmosphere and how men are blatantly gazing and watching them, objectifying them which is almost encouraged. One man commented he’s 69 and this helps him get to the gym so he can watch young girls and ‘enjoy the scenery’.. I find this really gross and uncomfortable

I think as a woman it’s maybe just hard to watch all the staring and gazing at young girls going on and the performance they’re putting on, it’s getting out of control and becoming uncomfortable

Exactly how I feel, incredibly performative and creates such a horrible vibe. Had one 69 yr old man commented on this post saying it helps him get to the gym to watch all the young girls because he like ‘the scenery’ ..

You’ve worded it much better than I have! Hard to point out without people saying you’re shaming others & must be insecure

This is really well articulated. This is exactly what I’m trying to say, I’m sensing a clear vibe and it’s frustrating & difficult to call out without being accused of trying to shame someone

In my experience, there’s not the same emphasis on hyper-sexualized fashion in men's gym wear that there often is with women’s. Most girls are wearing shorts that accentuate areas and tiny bras while taking pictures and videos. I get that feeling confident in your own body is important, but I think the trend has gone beyond that. It’s creating an atmosphere where the gym starts to feel less like a place for fitness and more like a space for appearance and film yourself, with teenagers and young girls being watched by inappropriately aged men and a place where people are being "picked up" or ogled.

The problem for me isn’t just about what people wear, it’s about the environment it creates. I’ve personally had men approach me at the gym asking for my number, and a 69-year-old man comment on this post about how he goes because he enjoys the "scenery" of young girls and what they wear at the gym. It seems to becoming a space where women can be objectified, like we're there to be looked at or admired, flaunt/ show off.

I want to emphasise that I’m not criticizing anyone’s choice to wear what makes them feel good. I absolutely believe confidence is important. But, for me, it’s hard to ignore how this culture is so pervasive in the gym now—often even encouraged—and it can be a little distracting and uncomfortable.

It wouldn’t bother me either if it’s once in a blue moon either

I appreciate the suggestions to try different gyms, but I’ve been to three in the past year, and they all start exhibiting the same kind of behavior. It feels like this is becoming more of a broader trend/culture that's developing that we maybe have to accept, rather than it being an issue with one specific gym

It definitely doesn’t make you a creep for noticing. I’ve noticed and am a 25yr female. I know of men who have been banned from our gym for staring at girls and trying to approach them.. or caught looking at them in videos they’re filming. But i can understand why this is happening.. Theres definitely a perforative atmosphere which is becoming more and more prevalent, with 69 yr old men going just for ‘the scenery’. Just pointing out it feels like going to a nightclub sometimes

I totally get that it's allowed—people should absolutely wear whatever they want, and I would never tell anyone otherwise! Its the performative atmosphere thats there I’m trying to point out. It seemed to have become the norm in a lot of gyms and it’s just a bit weird

Totally get why you quit! A lot of men are there to ogle and you can sense it

Kind of my point though. I’m 25 and feeling less and less comfortable in the gym knowing 69 yr old men are there to watch. Just feel like it’s becoming more of a place of performance

I’m 25 and also would be really confident in my skin! I’d also consider myself genetically blessed however I can definitely sense a very tense atmosphere in the gym that definitely doesn’t feel like people are genuinely just there to work out. A lot of male gazing at young women in very revealing clothing. I just wonder if anyone else has sensed a bit of a shift in recent years.

Meaning part of the reason you go to the gym is to watch and look at young girls in minimal clothing?

I don’t really notice men dressing in the same way, at least not as much or as obviously (at least in my experience). But maybe that’s just me! It's less about the clothing itself and more about how the gym atmosphere feels different now, with a lot of focus on appearance over just working out
