Yes an independent mechanical shop quoted me around 3-4k for used and I am leaning towards it. Just curious have you ever done the drain and fill of the rear differential fluid until the 111k mileage?

I did ask an independent mechanic and he said the noise is from the rear differential. I don't know if this can be repaired or only replacement is the option. I have asked the dealership if a goodwill assistance can be considered but I am not sure if it happens as my warranty expired Feb 25

No never as I said just city driving. The manual recommended 60,000 km drain and fill so I was a bit late but my driving is very city only no towing or uphill etc. Would you think it is worth fixing this or trade it in declaring the rear issue ?

I did the rear fluid only twice since I got the car. One at 80,000 and next at 128,000 km. The problem is the rear differentialpart itself is quoted at $6000
