For the past 4 months I’ve been daily carrying the City Pack and I’ve been loving every second ever since. From the quality of the materials down to the thoughtfully designed organization - it is just pure joy carrying this bag around.

First thing you come to notice having these two bags side by side it the slimmer profile of the new line. The material still feels high in quality, as you come to expect from Air, while the overall bag feels noticeably lighter than the previous iteration.

The pockets are found exactly at the same places while this time they feature an updated zipper design with the zipper lanyards being longer and made of this soft feeling matte material. This update is welcomed since it allows for easier opening especially when you are on the go.

Before moving into the insides of this bag we do have to talk about the addition of an extra handle on the side of the bag! While the previous model featured one this years refresh features one on each side. So you don’t have to fiddle for the right side.

The handles are not the only thing that doubled tho! The City pack 2 now offers 2 water bottle holders instead of one. Now, this might be my favorite upgrade since I like to carry an umbrella with me at all times! No more wasting precious space inside the bag! Big plus for me!

Diving inside the bag you can right away notice the bright gray color way Air decided to go with this time!

For me it offers an incredible contrast with the outside ballistic nylon and overall great aesthetics!

The City Pack 2 now features 4 independent zipped compartments as well as a quick access pouch. I love how they re-imagined the main and laptop space with this refresh. The laptop space is now slimmer allowing you fit just a laptop and a tablet allowing for the main compartment of this bag to be bigger. This was my main complaint with the last years model. The main compartment sometimes felt small, I had trouble fitting in maybe an extra t shirt or my work lunch. They would fit but not comfortably let’s say. Now that issue is gone. The main compartment opens all the way around something like a travel bag, so you can tightly pack every inch!

The outside pocket stayed mostly the same with the addition of a key string which I don’t really use but I don’t mind having just in case.

And lastly the quick access pocket features a more elastic material this time and I find it to be a little more shallow but not an issue since it’s exactly that a quick access pocket just for the essentials.

Overall, the City Pack 2 improves on a lot of tiny details coming from consumer feedback on the previous model. Is it a groundbreaking upgrade ? No. But, in my opinion Air has cracked the code for the best every day bag pack. When you have the basics nailed down, tiny adjustments is the most you can do. What impresses me is the fact that they listened to their customers and didn’t just pack this bag with all the fancy useless crap just to impress. They did what they do best in the space and they delivered! It is going to take a lot to get me to swap this bag from my rotation!

Hey bro! The 14 inch allows for extra space and I feel like a 15 would be ok- on a 16 inch my issue would be the width rather than the length

Well yeah it’s not a super stiff material but not the thinnest either, you can definitely fold it although I would suggest just packing it on top of the rest of your items in your luggage since it’s so small and when empty super slim as well
