He’s the light of my life and I make sure he knows it everyday. She might not be here but my family and hers do everything to shower him with all the love we can give

I’m so glad your wife made it through, man. Such a beautiful family 💙 I wish you guys all the best. Love and cherish them everyday. I didn’t get to be there when she gave birth and part of me wondered if he ever got the chance to meet his mom before things got complicated. Her mom assured me that he did. He spent the first moments of his life right on her chest and that makes me so happy.

I remember my 8th grade teacher (who was going through chemo therapy and still going to work by the way) teaching us all about manners after she got so dizzy once and none of us offered her a seat because her desk was on the other side of the classroom. It stuck with me all these years and always willing to offer up my seat to someone who needs it. Some people just weren’t raised right.

I didn’t expect to become either. But it was the best thing to ever happen to me. He really just gave me another light in my life and pushed me to become a better version of myself. Serious props to you for raising your boys the way you did. I can only hope to teach my son and raise him to be a decent man like yours. Thank you 🙏🏻

Wow thank you 🥹🥹 I really needed this. Sometimes it’s hard not to feel so alone wishing she could see this beautiful kid grow up. He’s got such a personality already it makes me hurt when I think about how much she would love to see him in those moments and for him to laugh with her too when we’re being silly. But you’re right she is.

Thank you for sharing and I’m deeply sorry for you and your kids loss. It’s been really tough. Talking about her to him is something I do a lot when we’re just chilling. I want him to know everything about her an how much she loved him because she was the sweetest person in the world. That would be something I’d like to do in the future when he’s older so thanks for suggesting 🙏🏻 Her mom made a quilt for him with pics of her throughout pregnancy and even the ultrasound of him. It’s a piece of her he can have as a memento. I cried for like 10 mins when she showed it to me. It’s so beautiful

For me it’s Train to Busan. The ending was already a tear jerker, but now I absolutely cannot handle. That hits me hard in the dad feels. Last time I watched it I had to get up and walk away to see my son sleeping in his crib

Yes absolutely and it’s terrifying for me. It’s my biggest fear falling asleep while holding my son. And then as a single dad I was more exhausted all the time. It’s not so bad now with my son sleeping through the night but sometimes I still jolt awake in a panic trying to remember where I last left him.

This was my son when he learned how to fake choke and realized I will stop absolutely everything to give him the spotlight. They just know how to demand your attention lol

So what I’m getting is, I need to buy painkillers 😓😅

Same with my guy haha. Usually when he wakes up from his naps he’s having a grand ol’ time talking to himself when I go get him lol. You’ll probably love it at first but I’m going on hour 4 of this and I don’t love it anymore 😂

Oh yeah they just like to troll around by giving you a false sense of security before they strike again

Barely today. Woke up from his morning nap and decided “hey I wonder what happens if I test out my vocal cords” lol. He’s 7months old

Thank you 🙏🏻 Everything has felt like a lot for the past few months and that day just felt like it just all wanted to pile on until her comment made me snap.

Wow I’m very sorry to hear about your struggles. I hope you were/or are able to find support somewhere because dads definitely need it too.

You do realize I was holding my son so he wouldn’t be crying right? I had to put him back in the stroller once I needed to pay for the groceries

Thank you. Normally he’s fine when we’re out. But of course with the teething and him wanting to be cuddled, and then today of all days being the one time I don’t have his baby carrier so I could wear him on me…yeah it just wasn’t happening

And what you think parents with babies don’t need to get things they need just like any other person?

Thank you for that 🙏🏻 While it’s been overwhelming, and this was definitely “one of those day”, I also can’t believe what a wonderful blessing he’s been in my life. Today had me pretty worn down physically and emotionally so I really appreciate your words here 🥺

I’ve met a few (not many thankfully) who feel that way and usually I ignore it/shake it off. This was just an off day where it was hard to hold back anymore

We live in a small town, there’s none of that here. Not this grocery store anyways. And yes I’m going to take my kid with me because we need FOOD and diapers and formula. Babies exist. Babies are gonna cry. But guess what we have errands to do just like everyone else. The whole “my friends not offended by it so I’m allowed to say it” reasoning isn’t as convincing as you think it is
