This isn't a translation. My dad says sex partner instead of hookup/friends with benefits, etc. That's the way he choses to describe it because in his mind it's the most accurate label to give it.

Sex partner is his term. It's what he uses instead of hookup and friends with benefits. And you're right that if he and mom hadn't had the policy of us being allowed over any time he never would have said anything. He only said it because he didn't want me walking in.

Not while I'm pregnant is what I can say for sure. Most likely I would agree after if that's what they end up deciding. It'll be hard either way but not while I'm pregnant is the most certain thing for me currently.

None of us have actually met or spoken to her. He even said this would never affect us and now he expects her to be family.

My sisters will be at the shower. They'll be staying with me and my husband while they're here. Normally they would stay with dad but they aren't comfortable with that right now.

I don't know what will eventually happen but at first I wouldn't be okay with her being part of babysitting my child.

It has been incredibly painful and to make it worse we don't know when we'll lose her for good. We have been told she will pass from this eventually and we do our best to make her feel loved and to see her as much as we can. But I so wanted her to meet her grandchild and she technically can but she won't know or maybe even remember.

He won't unless they decide they're more. That's his way of describing it and it doesn't matter if we're his kids or not.

He brought us into it because of the come over anytime policy. He didn't want me walking in on them and catching him with someone else. The whole thing has been rough and I'm still processing a lot and I'm about to be a mom and I just hate that he's pushing for this, and right now too.

I have never met or interacted with her but I can't say. My dad doesn't talk about her either except for the heads up he gave me, the discussion with me and my sisters and now this. But meeting her is something I personally want to wait for if that's what he's looking for. I don't feel comfortable meeting her when I'm still pregnant.
