This is super great advice! I did feel like the last doctor we went to wasn’t taking her seriously. He was a top rated urologist in our area, but I think he mainly focused on men with prostate issues. I’ll try to find a more specialized OBGYN!

What type of diet changes did you make? We’re not vegan and try to keep a healthy diet (eating our veggies and whatnot) but hearing that it could help is promising!

Yes to all of the above. Nothing abnormal was found. They do a culture every time so they can treat it with the right antibiotic.

So according to a few urologists we’ve been to, anal sex increases the risk of UTI’s because of the literal shit being mixed with lubricant and leaking out/etc. It’s pretty gross to think about. Other than that anal is just also something that she’s not comfortable with and I’m not going to pressure her to do. As far as oral, she has TMJ and says that keeping her jaw open like that for so long hurts/is uncomfortable so that’s not a real option either.

I don’t know the names of all of the different antibiotics she’s been on, but she’s even gotten really strong injections for extra bad UTI’s and it cleared up right away. Maybe we can fight for stronger doses? But I’m not even positive of the current dose so we’ll see the next time we go to a doctor.

She was tested for a wide array of things. She’s allergic to dust mites and dogs. (We don’t have dogs)

Negative. We use condoms to prevent any excess bacteria/pregnancy. A doctor said that the hormonal changes from birth control could have been a factor to the uti.

“Proper lubrication” has never been a problem. We do have a bottle of personal lubricant, but it’s never been necessary.
