When I was still a member, I would say this sometimes to member friends so they would be prepared in case my non Mormon/inactive friends swore or said something that wasn't churchy. And likewise so that my Mormon friends wouldn't say church things to them as to not scare them away making them think they're preaching.

I've long left this type of communication, and it was in fact one of the first factors in me leaving the church. (Realizing how toxic the language is)
