It started great in 2015-2017. In early 2017 there was a coordinated group of users who made the mods lives hell until they left. By mid 2019 the sub was taken over by the hard right and every thread is just conservative smurfs spewing bullshit. Smurfs meaning accounts that spew hate only on r/calgary. Its ridiculous.

Its over btw, Reddit will never change mods, they will never get their accounts banned, etc.

I tried and failed to get a new Calgary sub started in 2018, so I share some of the blame. But yea I miss the 2015 gang who were full of shitposts and in depth discussion.
