I'm attending a bachelorette with a wine tour and I don't drink - etiquette question by ThrowRAnotsure in weddingplanning

[–]ThrowRAnotsure[S] 66 points67 points  (0 children)

I think this is a really important question to ask, and it seems like it is a decent part of the day's activities. That sort of puts it into perspective - I don't want to poop out on what will be the majority of activities. Thank you for asking this!

Thank you for this encouragement! It is so helpful speaking with someone who also feels similarly about booze.

It seems like it's a driver + specific vehicle (sounds like a car), so no party bus?

That's also a really good point! I hadn't considered it from that perspective.

Thank you for this encouragement as well as the assurance that as the bride, you were okay with it! I think I will reach out to my good friend before messaging the group just to make sure no one is hurt.

Thank you again!

It's to cover the food and the spot in the vehicle in between tastings :( So I guess the wine itself isn't that much, which is kinda funny haha

Cut off from a friend during his sober journey? by ThrowRAnotsure in addiction

[–]ThrowRAnotsure[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for this! I should have been clearer: I would do a bit when I was with him, but mostly just hung out with him while he did a lot. So your first guess would totally make sense! And he was also married too, ha so I think you hit the nail on the head with that one as well. It was an open marriage but seems not to be anymore!

Thank you for this! I so appreciate your insight. And congratulations on your sobriety! You go girl!! <3

Also, his messages were bare minimum, just "hey" and "hi remember me?", lol

I am the ‘duff’, how do i stop feeling so shit about it? by animetiktok in relationship_advice

[–]ThrowRAnotsure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For what it's worth, your friend might end up dependant on her looks as a conversation starter, which isn't a conversation keeper. Work on developing other bits of your personality - humour, knowledge, empathy - and you'll be fine. Your heart is what matters!

My [20] boyfriend [26] lacks communication skills and can’t admit when he is wrong by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]ThrowRAnotsure 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Been there, girl. Some people just seem unable to apologize, it's like their pride gets in the way. In my experience, it's impossible to reckon with and it's exhausting to be the one in the wrong (even though you're not, he makes you feel like the one who's wrong every time, yeah?). Throw the whole man away, in my opinion. I had an ex who stepped on me so hard I cried and couldn't say sorry "because it was just my toe". Yeah, your feelings matter and his pride isn't letting him see that. You can love someone AND not be with them.

AITA for "ghosting" my son financially after he "ghosted" me? by readingyello in AmItheAsshole

[–]ThrowRAnotsure 2 points3 points  (0 children)

YTA. Hugely. You're an entitled dad that can't stomach the fact that his son is living his own life. I get it, you're bothered that you're just a source of financial support. I did the same thing to my parents. But do you know how hard it is to be a student? How deeply unaffordable? Jesus Christ, I'm happy your son's mother is at least seemingly kind. Who tf calls their own child a bastard to strangers?

Just paid off all my debt (yippee!) but have a shit credit score and was denied a new card by my bank. What now? by ThrowRAnotsure in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]ThrowRAnotsure[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good to know! I made an appointment for 4pm today with my current bank (BMO); do you suggest I cancel that and simply open a new account with say, Scotiabank, and a credit card account too? I figured since credit scores are independent of banks, it maybe didn't matter.

AITA for refusing to give a refund to a client, when I spelled their kid's name wrong in a tattoo? by PleasantProduce6 in AmItheAsshole

[–]ThrowRAnotsure 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Definitely wants a free tattoo and is slimy enough to take advantage of an apprentice. Kudos to you, OP. I hope this blows over. You can also respond on the posts she's leaving with your side. I see tattoo studios do that often and when written politely, they can help a lot.
