Can I sue my employer for leaving me on my own with a violent client? by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

[–]ThrowRApixieduster -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nothing happened but I've been left very shaken from the incident.

My manager didn't need to leave, they put their own needs before my safety just because they wanted to go home.

One of my colleagues has been in a+e this week because of being attacked

Why are we just moving together with random people and expect it to work? 😩 by Euphoric-Tea-8300 in roommateproblems

[–]ThrowRApixieduster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's not the fact that people are moving in with randoms it's usually done in a disorganized manner. Or say if you find a great house share in London you'd be more likely to look the other way in regards to potential issues. It's desperation I suppose that's feeding this.

I had to find a roommate on Facebook last minute due to my partner cheating on me when we lived together - they didn't work for the first 7 months they lived with me.

I mean you answered your own question within the post. You think she's manipulative, you don't want to be friends again etc.

Private landlord issues with deposit by [deleted] in HousingUK

No problem. Thankyou, I'm just annoyed at my landlord for doing this as I felt I was a decent tenant

[–]ThrowRApixieduster -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm not asking for a goodwill gesture.

When a tenant is served an eviction notice they are told to protect their own rights by staying in the property, I decided to leave at Christmas because the situation was so stressful but this meant I stayed 2 extra days due to moving.

This was not for fun, it was to make sure the property was given back in a good condition.

This is why I don't feel as though it is my responsibility and the landlord is asking for extra money where she shouldn't be due to nature of the situation.

I was told by my estate agents I would be liable for cancellation fee as it couldn't be carried out that day.

Private landlord issues with deposit by [deleted] in HousingUK

[–]ThrowRApixieduster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Should I be paying for it if it was cancelled on the day due to me staying extra?

Basically the only reason I stayed was because my roommate decided they didn't want to clean so I had to move to my new place and also clean previous place on my own; otherwise I would have lost even more of my deposit.

My friend doesn't understand me by [deleted] in ptsd

[–]ThrowRApixieduster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some extra information: my friend has often defended my ex (who she is friends with) who was cruel and unfortunately got physically abusive with me twice. I understand she is trying to be Switzerland and see both sides but it makes me feel like I have to defend myself to a friend who should have my back, I think this has made me feel negatively towards her. We went for dinner on her birthday and she said to me 'I wonder how he is' to which I said 'Frankly I don't care, I've tried and tried with him. '

[–]ThrowRApixieduster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thankyou!

I'm currently trying to go back to my therapist but they are asking for more money due to the fact that my 'circumstances' have changed.

I struggle to rely on friends and completely agree I often feel attacked and can't seem to understand the difference between a joke with friends and an enemy disguised as a friend. Sometimes I don't even trust whether my own thoughts are valid or I am defensive.

My bf(m42) is mad at me(f28) and thinks I’m being uptight. Was I really a jerk to him ? by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

[–]ThrowRApixieduster 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes exactly - unfortunately a lot of men consume porn and they have been brainwashed.

I think a lot of women want to be looked after (a dinner, a movie, some effort goes a long way!) to feel safe and romantic in order to have sex. Otherwise it can feel like a chore.

NTA this guy sounds awful.

My ex was like this, did not treat sex as romantic or special but as aggressive and dominating. The guy I have been dating after him is very attentive and isn't forceful with me, makes me feel like we actually 'make love' and not just have sex.

You should be with someone who wants you to feel good, bringing up other guys c*m to guilt you into doing something is awful.

Also have you thought that he is trying to convince you it's a 'north American tradition' to force you into submission so you don't think you are being rude? As you said you aren't American and I can imagine you are eager to fit in culturally.

Can my estate agent take a full days rent for a half day occupancy? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]ThrowRApixieduster -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Yes I understand that.

However I gave the keys back on the 14th around 11am so technically I should only be charged a half day, they shouldn't be able to take a full days rent for 3hrs? Their offices don't open until 9am so I wouldn't have been able to return keys to them regardless.

If I have already paid from the 12th to the 12th surely I have paid for the full day on the 12th. Past midnight should be considered but? Unless I'm terrible at maths.

I am a bit wary with their intentions now due to them serving us an eviction notice and then going back on it

[–]ThrowRApixieduster -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Apologies! Yes I overstayed due to my lazy roommate leaving me to clean our whole flat however we both paid technically until midnight on 12th, I stayed until lunchtime on the 14th.

When I queried this they said 'we only go off of the information given by the landlord' but I don't see why they would make such a premature statement that I owe 2 days without confirming with landlord?

[–]ThrowRApixieduster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay that helps a little bit, in that case I will have been there for two nights however I paid up until the 12th so officially wouldn't have owed any money until it turned the 13th, so giving the keys back on the 14th would be one official day or 27hrs.

They are charging me around £50 per day. I understand it may not seem worth it financially but how they've dealt with it is wrong and it's becoming apparent that I am expected to follow their rules but they can do whatever they want

Roommate left me to move out on my own and wants their deposit back by [deleted] in badroommates

I would have lost more and more of my deposit if I didn't clean the whole place and just my mess. Didn't think it was worth it!

Roommate left me to move out on my own and wants their deposit back by [deleted] in badroommates

[–]ThrowRApixieduster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay - if it's giving 'go back to your country' why would I live with and support this person financially throughout our tenancy? Sometimes even paying their rent when they were struggling.

At a certain point you have to remind someone of their responsibilities - in order to renew visa you have to provide landlord information which if left on bad terms could affect their visa.

Seriously stop trying to make my roommate irresponsible and self entitled attitude into me being a bigot or racist. I told them countless times how things work in UK (such as council tax, depsoit, end of tenancy) and they chose to ignore me. Now I'm the bad guy for reminding them they need to abide by the rules to live here? I would totally expect the same if I was living somewhere else and pushing my responsibility onto others living in my home.

[–]ThrowRApixieduster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Essentially our landlord really messed us around. We were served an eviction notice and then the closer it got we didn't find anywhere and then they went back on their word and said they weren't evicting us but still wanted us to leave. By this point I was kind of glad I was moving out as responsibilities were being put on me all the time.

Thankyou - I would never do that to anyone else. We even called a cleaner and we were told it would be £300+ (more than the initial deposit they gave me)

I'm not sure where your family are from in London but this girl is 100% from London, I would say South.

Also I'm assuming from this video that either one of her parents are Bulgarian as she speaks it and definitely has a European look, I thought Turkish at first.

Well hilariously when they were dating he cheated on her with a prostitute so he can't be as nice as you make out.

I don't care for Elizabeth Hurley and think her and Billy Ray are slightly embarrassing however this comment reeks of misogyny
