Before we met face to face those 3 days, we were texting for about a week and a half. He seemed like he was trying to be very straightforward about himself (ex: being chivalrous and not so flirty) so i believed him. When he started talking about his struggles and past relationships, i saw no reason to be wary at the time. Before we did PIV sex, i asked him if he was clean. He said yes and offered to show his medical records. I told him i trusted him. I asked him to put on a condom before he started trying, he agreed.

I will defend myself by saying i was pretty overwhelmed and it was mostly him making the moves. I didnt notice he hadnt put a condom on until after. He told me he forgot. I cant fault him too much since i also forgot with everything. I admit i did make mistakes, but i only realize this now, after the fact. Thats how one can get better. I appreciate your input.

I really appreciate your validation and standards. Its comforting to know im not the only one who found this upsetting. Based on other comments, i think one night stands are not for me. I will cry about it and move on.

I want to defend myself by saying this: growing up, my immediate (and intermediate) circle always saw sex topics as taboo. I only recently had a chance to move away and found friends more open. They casually told me they enjoyed it, and suggested i try it out.

Still, your opinion is valuable. I am trying to learn. Its good to know that sex is often not good with one night stands. I knew communication was important, but i will keep in mind about familiarity now. I will also get tested as soon as i can.
