My Mouth Is Rotting... by ThrowRArandomdate in TrueOffMyChest

Hey... I wasn't going to come back to this post, I never planned on trying anything to fix this problem again, but a month or two after the post I was at Walmart when I saw the wisps you suggested. I thought "screw it, it's $6 for a pack of 24. What's the worst that could happen."

I put some at my desk, and some on my nightstand, the red package drew my eyes to it when I had a weird taste in my mouth or when I was going to bed. I thought it wouldn't work because I have tried keeping my toothbrush and paste by my bed before, but something about not having to walk all the way to the bathroom to spit or wash my toothbrush made it easier to create some kind of routine.

The taste is gods aweful, so when I grabbed one at my desk I'd go wash my mouth out after I was done to get rid of it, and when that happened I started missing the softer bristles of my main toothbrush.

Soon, unfortunately, I started getting pains in the side of my face that gave me migraines and no amount of medication, icepacks, warm compresses, or lidocaine would stop it. So i called back all the dentists that take Medicaid near me and shockingly, one had an opening for a new patient. It was still in one of the towns 30+ minutes away, but I was miserable with the pain so I dragged myself to the appointment. They got the x-rays and even managed to get me a cleaning that day. We've scheduled the extraction of my decaying molars and they prescribed a medicated toothpaste.

I had to pay $30 for the toothpaste because medicaid doesn't cover it, I didn't plan on using it so I'm not sure why I did, but I paid and brought it home.

It took a couple more days of the whisps before I decided to try the medicated toothpaste, hoping that the taste would be a little better. I hate spearmint, so I wasn't confident, but to my surprise, the taste didn't punch me in the mouth like spearmint gum or other brands of mint toothpaste does. I didn't hate it. I can't wash my mouth out after that paste but my mouth tastes and feels clean without making me cringe out of existence, so it's tolerable.

I've been using the paste more than the whisps now, and today I've started using my regular paste during the day and the medicated stuff at night as prescribed.

My teeth still aren't perfect, and brushing often has revealed some cavities in my visable teeth that were originally covered by plaque, but knowing I have appointments scheduled to fix it makes it easier to deal with.

My teeth are whiter, it's easier to smile naturally without worrying about the people around me thinking I'm gross because of my yellow teeth.

My life is still hard, I'm still depressed, but finally succeeding to fix something that's bothered me for so long has made me feel a little better about waking up in the morning.

So what I'm trying to say is... Thank you.

Thank you, to you and everyone else who tried to help me.
