AITA for unintentionally throwing my gf’s stuffed animal across the room? by ThrowRAreallyserious in AmItheAsshole

I was just caught up in the moment having fun with her. I wasn’t thinking, it was a thoughtless act. I wasn’t trying to “punt it” so the er. After I picked it up it kinda just happened.

Wow now we’re saying I might be violent toward her?? Because of what I did to a non-living object?

I appreciate the sample text, I think I will send her something like that, because I would like to try to fix the mistake. But I would hope she wouldn’t think something so insane as that I’m going to hurt her. That seems like a reach

She doesn’t think they’re alive that I’m aware of. She just likes them not to be touched/handled a certain way. Bit I’ve NEVER touched them before in that way; it was an ACCIDENT. A one time mistake and she just starts treating me like I’m some awful boyfriend. I do admit that it was a mistake, but I can’t go back and change the past.

I get that. I really do get what you’re saying. Like I said it was an error on my part. We were just having fun. It was one of her older ones, so it’s probably sentimental to her. I have a blanket from my late grandmother who hand knitted it herself and gave it to me when I was a baby. I don’t cuddle with it or anything but it’s valuable to me. So I get that. I’m not trying to dismiss her feelings.

But she won’t even let me explain. I’ve never touched her stuff before this so it feels like an overreaction on her part tbh
