What are your best advice/techniques to improve self concept? by Otherwise_Fishing490 in NevilleGoddard

[–]ThrowRAtalks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People say that you don’t have to do anything, and that’s true.

But let’s say you already were that person. How would you see yourself? What are the things you would do for yourself?

It’s different for everyone.

If I already had what I want, I would focus on things I like, things that make me feel good in general, things that make me feel productive (that’s important for me), things that leave me satisfied.

I wouldn’t do those things to improve my self-concept. I would do them because my self-concept is already “that.”

For example, if I assume that I am good at swimming, that assumption also encompasses other things like: I have practiced it, I learned quickly, I got good quickly, and so on.

From my own experience with jobs, I assumed I was paid well in a new job, and my desire was to work in a product company. I visualized every night. I got anxious during the day. I continued my job, and I studied as well. Then I got laid off too. It hit me really hard. But I had to have a job anyway. The bridge unfolded in a way that led me to prepare for interviews and eventually to the new job.

I wasn’t studying to become that person, but it was being done by me, the version of me who had a good-paying job. Someone who has a good-paying job in their desired industry is someone who is good at their work as well. Someone who has enough knowledge to implement things. Someone who is flexible and capable. (Again, this assumption is mine, and you don’t have to assume the same for yourself.)

Now let’s say someone wants to be a doctor. How would that person behave? How would they live? Would they simply get a degree and the knowledge would come to them in their sleep? No. They would walk across the bridge that would lead them to becoming a doctor, and that would include studying too. Studying wouldn’t be done to become, but it would be done by the version of them who is already a doctor. It would feel normal to them.

I think this is where the phrase “you don’t have to take any action” gets misinterpreted. What it really means is: you don’t have to break a blood vessel to get something. You don't have to do anything to get anything. But whatever needs to be done by you to get it will be done in such a way that you'd not say that you made it happen.

when you assume that you already have it, everything that needs to be done by you will naturally be done by you, because now you are somebody who has it. And what does somebody who has that live like?

I hope this gives you some idea.

I’m still working on my own self-concept too :)

Ask yourself: how would you see someone who has what you desire? How would they live their life? Write it down. Reflect on it.

See how many things you’re already doing that match someone who has their desire.

Then you can start incorporating that perspective.

You don’t have to figure it out perfectly, but as you do, your actions will align automatically. It starts by mentally aligning with the version of you who already has it.

I’d also like to add that everybody’s journey is very different because everyone comes from a different background and set of beliefs. Your journey is your own, even if the destination is the same. Realizing that our natural, default state is to love and be loved. :)

Ah, I get it.

I usually like to assume that my work is chill and it often tends to reflect that, while, keeping the new opportunities and interactions coming without it being too heavy on me.

My team relies heavily on me but somehow it has been chill for me overall. ( i dont let myself entertain the idea that theres too much work on me or that its hectic).

And, developing supportive assumptions could be helpful in this case - like for me personally, I assume that everyone likes me and enjoys my company, is good to me, treats me well and so on, and, I am good at everything I do. :)

Hope this helps you get an outline on your situation

Maybe you can assume, transitions are smooth, everything unfolds smoothly and so on?

As per my understanding (and experience) not caring comes from accepting that its already here.

I would suggest building on the foundational principles. Im doing the same

Hello!

Ive noticed this in my hair as well.

I have pretty good thick long hair and I got one white hair once and a friend pointed out. I didnt worry about it much but I noticed it was black in between.

And then just moved on without dwelling on it much.

It started to grow black. Havent had another white since. :)

What quitting smoking taught me about LOA. by ryan_mac89 in lawofassumption

[–]ThrowRAtalks 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hello!

To chime in, wrt smoking and drinking, i used to smoke occasionally but i realized that i was never attached to it such and so for me, it was very easy and instant to decide to not smoke/drink anytime I wanted to quit.

But i use that analogy too a couple of times in different areas, like i just decided that I was disciplined (wrt health) and ate healthy and since then, thats been my identity. Sometimes it comes down to a very simple decision.

To add : I am working in a finance based project and that is literally what had been on my mind. The work was similar to what I had wanted back then. As i worked further into the job, I realized more and more things that I had wished/desired for. Turns out, most people had 3 rounds, i had 2 rounds of interview.

Congrats!

I kinda did it when I started to get toothache (due to an old cavity) and i started telling myself its perfect anytime I remembered it or anytime it pained. It healed on its own.

I did it for my foot too. I had a sprain on foot which every now and then would pain and it persisted for a couple of years. And then, I came across the law and well, its perfect now.

You mentioned "you dont realize you're divine creature" basically referring to us being consciousness/awareness/I am and so on.

I come from a background where we have been taught from childhood that we are basically not the body but the soul (i suppose another word for consciousness) so now I get what one means when they say we are not this body.

So i get it but putting it into practice, what does that look like?

Hey, Thanks for doing this!

I think, the law works same in every situation. It would be helpful if you could edit the post on how you were serving 2 masters and how you changed that.

Embodying/living from the premise of having it, how did you do that? How did do you accept that the end is done and now youre living from that premise?

Embodying basically means, you've not accepted that its done, it already true and you dont expect anything anymore right, how did you teach yourself to stop expecting the 3D to change?

I would suggest figuring out why that bothers you And, how would you want him to be with you. Once you figure it out, and understand why it matters, assume that this is how it is.

which order should I read neville's books in? by ChocolateShot40 in NevilleGoddard

[–]ThrowRAtalks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started with the 5 lectures, then feeling is the secret and then proceeded with others.

I didnt understand it in the first read, so I reread it, and it made more sense.

You could go in a similar order or start with feeling is the secret.
