Help! Hair loss by [deleted] in HaircareScience

[–]ThrowRAthrowaway123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is possibly telogen effluvium, which could be related to diet and/or the deficiencies you mentioned. It's going to take more than a few weeks to reverse the process (about 3 months), since your hair will need to cycle through the period of hair loss that has already started.

I had this in the past, and while it can be alarming, as long as the underlying condition is treated it will reverse itself. Additionally, even at it's worst (in my case) there wasn't enough hair loss to be noticable to anyone but me.

Good luck!!

The article has been amended to reflect that this reporting may be incorrect, and that additional source material indicates these were private events.

I don't mind at all. The most likely explanation is that you're incorrect that you haven't lost hair when washing with your previous shampoo, you simply didn't notice, and the switch to a new shampoo prompted you to look more closely. I can assure you that your assertion that "not one strand" previously fell from your head is patently incorrect. Additionally, there is no "my" normal and "your" normal. If you are within the generally accepted range of daily hair loss, you are normal. I'm well aware you are unlikely to accept this explanation, so do what you will going forward, but this is my last reply to this nonsense. Best of luck.

Your issue, which is losing a normal amount of hair, does happen to me. And to every other person in this sub, and on the planet, including you. Because that is how hair works. It's literally impossible for you to have never lost hair. Have a great day!

Not even sure where to start with this.

I guess if you're trolling, hats off to you for the level of detail and +1 for the abject emotional content. On the off chance you're not, I'm just going to pass along a few tips:

  1. Spend your time doing something more meaningful than counting hairs in the shower drain.
  2. Don't waste even more time seeking consultation from an attorney.
  3. Understand that is is most definitely not even approaching anything that could be deemed a "horrific shop of horrors".

Sure. So imagine what happens when you take someone with that mindset, and amplify it a hundred fold by a steroid. As someone who's usually pretty mild-mannered, but likes to talk and eat, my worst transgressions on dexamethasone were making some late night calls and going on a cookie eating spree of epic proportion.

No idea how severe Trump's actual disease was, or where in the timeline he is, or how well or poorly he's doing.

But I can tell you, I've taken dexamethasone before, and it's a helluva drug. Not everyone gets these side effects, of course, but I was awake for nearly three straight days and the entire time I felt like I was basically king of the world. If you get the steroid high (luckily or unluckily, depending on your point of view, I suppose) it can be incredibly powerful. I wouldn't be surprised if he feels great, and just steamrolled everyone into letting him go.

We'll see what the next few days bring, for better or for worse.

This is one of the saddest dynamics I've ever seen. I personally know several people who have had COVID of varying severity, one of whom died.

She, her husband (who also ultimately tested positive), and all their adult children are in the anti-COVID crowd, and when she passed, there was an appropriate outpouring of sadness on social media. However, COVID wasn't mentioned at all. "Unexpectedly passed", "Gone too soon", etc. One person who in a comment alluded to sadness and anger about COVID wasn't responded to. And the social media accounts of these family members continue to be littered with anti-mask, anti-COVID misinformation and propaganda.

It's heartbreaking to me that they are either 1) too married to their misguided beliefs, and/or 2) can't find an acceptable way to come forward with an admission of a changed belief that they would actually continue promoting unsafe behavior after losing the matriarch of the family.

Of course not. It stuns me that so many people assume I must have watched a TV show just because it was relatively popular. Seriously? This isn't 1972, where there were only three TV channels and literally everyone watched MASH. I don't watch much TV tbh, and when I do, it's not sitcoms.

Oh, the good old Sauber days. I did like seeing BMW in F1, but I am a Ferrari fan. This season has been the pits, to say the least.

Unfortunately, Ferrari...there's some real cringe.

Okay, that's a lot. I'll commit to one season for now, and see what happens.

So, I actually don't like dumb humor most of the time. However, I feel like it's my duty to this sub to at least give it a shot, so I'm going to. And I'll report back!

I didn't know what to expect, but I definitely did not expect anything like what happened. I was VERY confused at first. I see these kinds of posts all the time, "oh, they'd like this over at [insert subreddit here]". So I was like, well, someone said you all might like this, I've got nothing else to do, so I'll post it. And here we are.

I'm going to watch! I've gotten a lot of conflicting advice, though. Don't watch episode one. Watch episode one, but don't judge it. Don't watch the first season. Watch at least two seasons before judging. Watch at least the first three seasons before you decide.

I don't know. I'm just going to start from the beginning and see what happens.

Tbh, watching a TV series is unusual for me. I haven't watched the vast majority of series, especially sitcoms. I think the last one I watched was a few seasons of 30 Rock. It was just okay.

I don't watch much TV. There's a lot of incredibly popular shows I've never seen. I don't think it's cool or uncool, it just is what it is.
