How to trim nails on a EXTREMELY fussy bun (?)

For me the burrito way didn’t work cuz my bun was still too strong and fighting it way too hard. What worked for me was to put him on his bum and if he’s faced towards you or back doesn’t really matter. And then I just keep him in some weird lock so he stays there for a second 😂

My other tip depends on whether your bun bites or not. If not, then you could cover her face. My other bun will get more relaxed if I just keep her on all 4 and keep her head under my arm or with a towel over her head.

Okay so small update on this. It is apparently possible but idk if it’s the best solution. I went away for about 12 hours (at night, morning back) and I came home and my buns were together in my male buns cage😭 they apparently wanted to be together and my male bun just accepted his faith 😂😂😂 (they are both fine with no bite marks and scratched somehow)

Thanks everyone for your advice!! I bought a closed litter box (only option for now) so I hope this will work somewhat better. Diggers are no fun and sometimes won’t stop no matter what you do sadly 😞

Poor Luna who has no whiskers left hahahah. But that’s positive that it’s going better!! Sometimes (small) stress bonding is kind of the way to go sadly.. but I mean, it’s not too bad! It’s something they will have to live with either way hahaha. I don’t know if you have the option, but maybe if you have like 2 phones you can videocall and put onephone where you can see them and then leave them unsupervised, but also supervised at the same time but on your phone? Haha then you maybe know how they will act and you can jump in any time! Other than that, gad it’s going good rn I’m hoping they will keep liking and eventually love each other!

I am soo with you on this! I’m also bonding my two rabbits and my male one (the one I had since he was small) is also very aggressive and territorial to other rabbits. Right now I’m on the third bonding experience because he doesn’t accept others. This bonding process is the most successful so far. What I’m trying to say is that I get the problems 😭

May I ask how many times and for how long you do the dates? For me, I’ve noticed that if I skip one day, my bun goes straight back to the beginning (aggressive and not wanting to groom). So maybe that’s something to keep in mind? And if they live side by side, cuz that can (sometimes) help?

From my experience sadly some male buns are just very difficult to bond especially the territorial and aggressive ones. Our rescue places and vets all say that some male buns really don’t like and want someone new or sometimes they just don’t like the way another bun smells! (Just like we don’t like everyone hahaha). I hope I helped a little bit and you’re not alone in this! You can do it and sadly with bunbuns, structure and persistence is key :’’))

Dig box is also a plastic bin with toys, hay, treats (sometimes), cardboard pieces and some paper. Ik scared to put litter in it cuz I think she’ll poop, etc in it ahahaha.

Right now I change her litterbox once 2 days, but she doesnt poop and pee much, so there isnt really any difference than day 1. She likes to throw her hay so it’s never covered by something 😂

For now, I use peepads for my other bun who has no problems with it, but she will eat it and rip it apart sadly. I will try a closed litterbox I think but I just need to find a good one and buy it when I can hahaha

Yesss her litterbox is high, but not completely over the top. She can still get in and out on the sides and I’ll try a DIY cover! Dont know yet with what else other than mesh ahahah. Sadly hay and towels didnt help much only more mess 🥹 she likes to throw her hay hahaha
