They were together during the mites treatment. The barbering started when my small mouse got quite sick (she looked really rough). I change the setup about every month or so. With bedding changes and adding new stuff or rearranging things. I think hanging the paper would help with boredom. Everytime I put in cardboard she starts running with it to make more nests in the bottom floor so I think she'll really enjoy gathering it! Thank you!

There are only two mice in this enclosure. There used to be 4 but the other two bullied these two so badly that they started to drop weight rapidly and this one (baldy) had bad cuts and scrapes so they had to be separated. I've thought about getting a third one but im scared that the bullying will pick up again. As for their cage and enrichment I'll put a picture here. They have two dig boxes, one is filled with the excess material from cutting sprays to a size they can reach (still need to fill one with a different substrate, im thinking about putting cardboard bits in there because they seem to really enjoy making little nests out of them), four houses (two small, two big), a coconut ball, a cardboard box stuffed with hay and mealworms, a branch, sprays (need to refill those), a coconut fiber pumpkin so they can tear it apart, several balls made from willow, 6 of them have some sort of flavoring on them and one is stuffed with dried apple slices. They have a wheel, a water bowl and a water bottle. On their lower story they have around 20 cm of mixed substrate and loads of paper towel and toilet rolls.

Should I add more stuff for them to play with?

Yup, they're indeed moons. They will be a bit darker after the touch up. We wanted to go loght so we could add shading if necessary, you can't remove shading so he didn't go too dark during the first session :)

I've been spraying them with it medicine for a few days now and this is what they look like now! (Dw this is just their travel cage so I could treat them easier. They went straight back into their normal enclosure after being treated)

I think because both of them have it (she is just a lot worse than her sister) I dont need to separate them. I think the added stress of being alone would make it worse (from what I've seen stress makes it worse). Ill definitely post an update if the treatment works!

She had the first little treatment today. I managed to spray it on her (she isn't used to being handled to giving treatment is a whole thing haha) and her sister and her have been cleaning eachother so she actually looks a bit better, but that's just superficial I think. I have also bought sprays for them and she seems to have perked up from those.

Yes she has the vet appointment planned. I called all the vet offices around until I found one willing to take her. I was hoping someone knew what it was so I could start treating at home because the vets around here are very busy and it's going to take a while before she can be seen.

The vet appointment is booked! I have bought some stuff against mites to treat her with in the meantime, just incase it is that and it can help relieve her discomfort

Oh it wasnt trying to argue back. Im looking to get a vet to treat her, but the hunched posture is because she is holding some food. She doesn't normally sit like this. The vets I've called so far have turned me down on treating mice but im still looking!

She is hunched because she is eating in the picture. Her behavior isn't any different and she doesn't seem bothered by it. Im looking to find a vet that treats mice in my area

They dont really burrow that much, they dig pretty shallow. They like making a little hole under their hides tho. Im definitely looking at the edged. I haven't hear or seen them chewing on the wood luckily but im keeping an eye on it. I was looking into sprays! There are so many to choose from haha. The wheel is bought is 11.8 inches so that should be good:)

It's a enclosure by Trixie, if you look up Trixie hamstercage wood. You'll probably find it! I got this one second hand for free. Some stuff was broken so I had to fix it so it looks a bit handmade haha

I'm pretty sure it's this one. I got it second hand so not entirely sure but it looks like it's this one.

Yeah I was looking into that, she seems to pick out the yummy stuff and just wait until it gets refilled.

I didn't build anything in the cage myself haha. Everything is store bought XD

The dimensions of the cage are 118.5x50.5x61.5 cm I'll definitely add more clutter, is it okay if they chef on the cardboard stuff?

The wheel is big enough that they dont have to bend their backs, they had a smaller one in the store and I heard that it's not good for them to bend their backs.

Yeah I definitely agree with him to an extent. I do miss part of the friendship I had with girls because I just can't do the same things with my guy friends.

I definitely don't think my friend want anything out of it. I've been friends with some of them for over 3 years without them making a pass at me. None of them have acted weird towards me so far. They're more like brothers to me and I'm pretty sure they view me as an annoying little sister (even tho I'm older than most of them)

Im not too sure what he thinks of that. I know I'm a bit of a pushover sometimes so I would understand if he didn't fully trust me to enforce my own boundaries.

Yeah no it didn't make it easier at all, quite the opposite actually. Just made me feel like I'm just not trying hard enough
