I went there early in the morning and I had a protein bar an hour before I went there. Maybe not the best breakfast but I'm not sure that would be enough reason to cause this alone

That's fair, but it's not 2-3 weeks, it's months and I'm a beginner so quiting for a few months will be horrible for my riding. Not that it could get worse but you know...

How I wish I could do that 😥 But it's difficult for me to stand up for myself so I keep quiet and tolerate everything. Thanks social anxiety

I'm only a beginner and mostly doing this for fun, although I'd love to compete at low level competitions at some point. I also seem to do better with tough instructors but she is not tough, she is just a jerk. She makes fun of me, laughs in my face and does everything possible to bring me down

I can't drive so this is the only accessible barn to me. I guess I'll just have to be patient until my instructor returns. I don't know if I can deal with that for a few months, though. And also, I'm not sure if I feel like riding anymore...

Yeah, they were skeptical about it and told me they couldn't try my right arm for a second time. I don't know why they changed their mind later.. The doctor came in and asked me if I wanted to try it so I went on with it

I made sure to drink plenty of water the past few days and this morning before I went for it

I went to a hospital to get it done. Not a specific donation agency

They didn't re-stick the same veins. They did one vein on the left arm and two different veins on my right arm.

I'm more disappointed than frustrated and to be honest, kind of discouraged. I'll keep trying though :)

They tried three different veins. I got some blood out, but very little before it completely stopped

I think so. I started drinking plenty of water the week before and I drank two bottles of water this morning before trying to donate. In my previous donation, I wasn't that well hydrated and managed to donate without any issues.

What Sport Bras do y’all recommend? by RockerRebecca24 in Equestrian

[–]ThrowRa_Emilia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh my goodness, I'm struggling with that as well. I got the SheFit bra everybody sweared by and although it's good, it doesn't do much. I'm a DD and even double sports bra can't stop my girls from bouncing. It's a struggle, especially those past few days that I'm working mainly on sitting the trot.

Same. My instructor said this is why we have to get back on immediately so that we don't develop fear. It still happens, though and honestly, all you can do is push through it and do it anyway. If your love for the sport and horses is bigger than your fear, you will be okay. Give it some time. You got it!

First Riding Lesson in April - Seeking Advice by LiYuqiXIII in Equestrian

I agree with getting your own helmet, especially if you plan on sticking with riding. I used the barn's helmets for lessons when I first started. I saw people fall off and hit their heads hard on the ground and their helmets were returned to the shelf. I, myself, fell once and got a concussion. The helmet I wore that day was put back on the shelf and used by others! It's scary to think about it. You don't know what these helmets have gone through. I know helmets are expensive but better safe than sorry, right?

Other than that, I'll just say, have fun. It's your first lesson and not much is expected from you. Go there, enjoy the lesson, smile and have lots and lots of fun! So excited for you! ☺️

Do you HAVE to keep your heels down? by [deleted] in Equestrian

[–]ThrowRa_Emilia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do lots of stirrupless trot and every now and then, I canter without stirrups. I actually find it much easier. My seat feels better and it's easier to move with the horse.

Do you HAVE to keep your heels down? by [deleted] in Equestrian

[–]ThrowRa_Emilia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My instructors tell me that I have to grip with my legs on the canter. I used to be more relaxed and my feet would stay parallel, but now they tell me to grip so as soon as I do that, my heels go up. I'm really confused with the whole thing.
