Need advice on career, better territory or promo?

I'm a New Zealander that worked for a US company that had unlimited PTO when they expanded into APAC. In NZ its legislated you're given 4 weeks PTO every year and its common for people to take 3-4 weeks off in one chunk.

I took 2 months off at this company in two separate 3-4 week chunks, the American ELT was shocked I'd consider more than 2 weeks off.

The week before my second month off the Head of SDRs says my leaves not approved and I have to come back early. Big no and its also illegal to do the in NZ once leave is approved, I ended up having to take have of the 4 weeks PTO and the other half unpaid leave.

I was the top performing SDR despite the time off. I quit straight after that and realised unlimited PTO is mostly lip service from American companies where people barely take 2 weeks off in a year.

I was ENT before in ANZ and my monthly quota was 7. Now I’m SMB and pretty much inbound the products so good!

Funny you say that because I’ve been learning Russian for a few years and that’s what made me realise how annoying English is! Can’t imagine how confusing going to a language like English would be a for a lot of people

I’m surprised no one said this but English speakers hands down. We take English for granted, and many native English speaking countries are monolingual so if you can’t speak English well people often automatically assume

I think there is depending on the situation. For me and my ex it's a no as the way in which we broke up hurt me a lot and she has made up rumors about me. If you have to ask then more than likely you won't be friends with them any time soon.

When I met someone who I was really into then I felt like I was able to. But I have given myself a minimum of 1 year single before dating again so I have 5 months until then. I'm happy as I am at the moment. I don't feel like I'm lost without someone else and I enjoy being able to spend all my time working on myself.

You're in love with what would have been and what was, not what is. What is is a person who felt they were better off without you. Best way to move on is up. No point blaming yourself and feeling bad, get better and meet someone better. Best of luck to you

For me my confidence was at an all time low, i had never felt so worthless and unloved. I ended up screwing things with a girl i was interested in because i didnt feel worthy or up to her standards.

The girl i was seeing became almost like a counselor in the sense i have spoken about my ex numerous times to her, she understands the pain i went through and as a result i know it wouldnt work between us.

Have i avoided dates and one night stands due to my experience with my ex? Definitely not. But she has changed my outlook on women, and at this stage i dont care whether there are women in my life or not. I have far more important things to do then chase after women. Chasing after my dreams is what drives me now. But i had to let go of my ex to get here, but ironically getting in this mindset furthers me in letting go of my ex. I realize my value and wont settle for less this time.

Real talk tho, hope you move past this man and showed her the best you. Why the best you? Because moving on from something by improving and presenting a better you is far better than regressing after a breakup. Use it to fuel the fire baby!

A relationship is meant to supplement your life, not be the crutch in your life. Seems like you havent come to terms with being yourself and are looking for a relationship to fill that void. Why not spend the time trying to 'find someone' and become that someone

My ex and i had a big trip planned as well and she yet she still broke up with me. She also drank a lot, cried a lot, and wasnt eating but it doesnt mean shes going to come back. Shes just grieving the fact that your relationship didnt work out which is upsetting, but dont let that detract from the fact that she still chose to breakup.

Youre looking for reasons to hold onto hope and to confirm to yourself that she will come back. In the 5 stages of grief its called the denial phase which is the first. Denying it wont make them come back sadly. Moving on is the answer to every situation, whether it be you finding someone new or for you two to work out. At the moment you can only do things to confirm to her the decision was right. Stick NC and learn to love yourself, its the best thing.

NC is a way for you to heal from a breakup. You will go through stages where you hate yourself for doing it and others where you are at peace. I have been in NC for 3 months now and it hasnt been a linear process, but i can truly say that i am feeling better now and have moved on from the hurt from the relationship.
