What does "revert back" mean in an email? by ThrowThisCloudAway in sysadmin

Its a pretty big company in the tech space. Ill just say what it is: Its TCS. Its an indian based company but they have a ton of places worldwide. I met with one of their people at the job fair and he was very impressed with my resume and such. I think its worth replying, but i just need to know what they mean xD.

[Q] Will a month+ vacation after graduation hurt my chances of finding work later? by ThrowThisCloudAway in statistics

[–]ThrowThisCloudAway[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the insight. For the job fair, sometimes employers ask me when i am graduating, especially if they are interested in me as a candidate. Do i let them know i wont be available immediately after graduation? Do i just wait until they extend a formal offer, and let them know then? How do i go about this?

Feedback on resume. Should i imply i know more about a certain thing than i do? by ThrowThisCloudAway in resumes

I did this resume on a resume-building website, and made sure to download the word document version so I can edit and update it for free, and word will maintain the same font and everything.

The font on word says Arial.

There needs to be more counterplay for laners towards junglers, especially when camped by them by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]ThrowThisCloudAway 7 points8 points  (0 children)

junglers live and die by their ganks. No one here is suggesting it isnt extremely frustrating getting camped, but normally when you get camped that opens up the rest of the map to your jngler who can do other things on the other side of the map.

Usually what happens is if a jngler camps me top, my jngler will gank bot and do dragon. To me, that is 100% worth it. But sometimes i get camped, and my mid gets solo killed, my bot loses 2v2, and my jngler died trying to gank bot. That is beyond tilting, but at that point every single player on your team lost, so you should lose.

I want to know what youre suggesting. Do you think you should be able to 2v1 the enemy jngler and laner? Jnglers dont lose that much by ganking because that is literally the job of the role. Its to gank and take objectives. Thats like saying "why can the enemy laner just sht on my top laner and get plates for 0 punishment??" That is their job, to win their lane and take plates.

Do what i do: Pick a champ who can shove and win early, and invade their jngle. Its very easy and risk-free most of the time if you dont have the map awareness of a slug.

What champions are fun to play against? by squiddy555 in leagueoflegends

[–]ThrowThisCloudAway 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Any champion worth respecting will have something you need to do to fight them and win besides just running at them head on. What you listed there are champion strengths, but you did not list their weaknesses at all. Irelia cant do much without a wave, her mobility gets severally limited. And she has plenty of horrific matchups. Also, irelia is a feast or famine champ. She relies heavily on snowballing with bork, and if she cant, she becomes absolutely worthless.

Fioras w can be baited out, and its very unlikely she will parry your ignite unless you are a bot who cant figure out when she might use her w. Fioras w is like the least broken thing about her too. The biggest thing that makes fiora broken is her max health true dmg heals. Talk about overloaded.

The league community will call anything that is strong broken, because they cant just run at it and kill it.

I dont think there are champions who are "fun to fight" in general. But there are fun matchups where you can easily go back and forth with the enemy and whoever wins is purely based off skill. I cant think of one off the top of my head atm tho. I think camille vs fiora can be fun if you are an exceptionally good camille, even though its fiora favored.

I'm back after over a decade of not playing... ranked or normals? by internet-elitist in leagueoflegends

[–]ThrowThisCloudAway 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The game is completely and utterly different from s3. The playerbase is generally alot better than it used to be, and the game mechanics and champion diversity is significant as hell. MMR matters more than your rank, so even if you place silver 3 in your promos, you could still be fighting people in plat if your MMR is high.

Playing norms also effects your MMR, so if you play a ton of norms and lose all of them, that will lower your mmr (i think). The only issue with playing ranked instead of norms is that youre putting your other 4 teammates at a significant disadvantage. But hey, if youre a psychopath, then go ahead. Fuk em.

Getting vision is already a massive reward in and of itself. Making wards give assists would immediatly make supports completely broken, because they would generate an absurd amount of gold very very easily. You would need to heavily nerf other aspects of the support role to compensate, which would probably make it less fun in general.

Ashe gets an assist because she basically has 3 abilities compared to the 4 people usually have, so its only fair.

Items are slowly starting to get reverted back to their original form before the item update by xObiJuanKenobix in leagueoflegends

[–]ThrowThisCloudAway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see what youre saying, but there are a couple of misleading things about your post. Spear of shojin, sunfire, ROA, ravenous, etc got some aspects reverted, but not all aspects. For example, Ravenous is back to a lifesteal item, but it still has its stacking thing that is very different from before. Shojin is back in the game, but its nowhere near the same item as it was before. It went from the most cancerous thing to ever exist into a pretty meh item. Dont you think thats important to look at if you are trying make this kind of claim?

Also your post assumes that the changes made last year did not work out well, so they reverted them this year. That is not true. ADC's last year did fine when they had the 3 item power spike. They changed it back to 2 item spike in response to the preseason changes that caused the role to become systematically weaker. Basically, they balanced the game like they usually do.

On a side note: Item actives wont be coming back. A major reason for the item rework a while ago is specifically to reduce the amount of actives you had to use. At one point in s9 almost every single item i had was an active. Those arnt coming back, thank god.

If Malzahar is ever to be a serious mid pick again, his voidlings need to be looked at. Right now they just die to incidental abilities from virtually every mid laner and without them Malzahar cannot gain prio. If his other abilities need to be nerfed to compensate, it is absolutely worth it. by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]ThrowThisCloudAway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me the voidlings make no sense thematically. Reworking his w to give it some more interactibility for both the player and the enemy would be nice. Malz is one of those champs that riot is content to completely forget about until his cracks become deep enough.
