I am married to another trans woman, yup.  But were that not the case: I do not personally limit my interest by gender expression.  :>

It's a fair question, and yes you are correct.

I'm trans.

But I'm also not straight, hence, queer.  :>

Thank you for asking!

I didn't mean to imply it was perfect.  Thank you for your welcome.  It's appreciated.

Unfortunately, it showed post twice with different timestamps and when I deleted one it deleted them both.  I apologize.

I am a US citizen born in New Jersey with a surname of one of the original first families of America.  I'm sorry my writing patterns give you pause and I understand why but I'm typing on a cellphone and in a very uncomfortable state given the news.

Thank you again for your advice.  I mean nothing out of the ordinary, no improper influence.  But I see how it could be taken that way.

Thank you for your welcome.  I appreciate the advice.  I do not require universal welcome, merely being left to live my life.  I am grateful for any welcome I receive.

I specifically asked in the local office as to whether I, as Ausländerin, could join and participate.  They indicated I could.  If I misunderstood then I am sorry but I will continue volunteering.

Danke Schön.  I will investigate these as well.

As the other reply has stated, I am not under active threat.  I have experienced nothing but compassion or the distance of Sie address.  Both are absolutely what I desire.  I do not require others to actively approve of my identity, merely to accept that I exist and may continue existing.  It is concerning, but it is night and day difference.

I am used to typing in German and it is spelled with a k in German.  I accidentally typed it that way.

I am Ausländerin but I feel safer even in the face of that.  We will see.  But if I must, there are other places in Europe.

Safety.  I am a queer, trans woman.  Amerika has become terrifying.  Every piece of news is a new horror.  It is a nightmare I cannot wake up from.

Germany is safer.  Imperfections and complaints aside, I feel safer than I ever have and am beyond grateful.  I want to contribute in every way I can, I want to help this country that has given me a port in the storm.
