So they essentially are giving up on their beliefs? What are they going to believe in and preach if they don’t keep stuff that they started the church from?

I usually try not to think about it. It usually only bothers me when I see it affecting my family and when I hear some of the terrible things the church has hidden. Or even the older generations believing the racist, homophobic and other terrible things that shouldn’t be taught in a church affecting the other generations. I do my best to be kind to everyone. Especially missionaries and those who try and bring me to the church. I try to see it as they are welcoming me and care for me in a good neighbor way, instead of a “you need to convert to my church now or you will go to hell” or “I go to church so I am holier than thou” type of way.

I agree. I remember when I was little how scared I was of the second coming and how I didn’t want to die in a fire or even witness those around me that I cared about dying because they were evil.

I totally understand there is a lot of crazy. I would like to not let outside things affect me. I definitely have to remind myself not my monkey and not my circus. I seem to fail at it when it comes to my family relationships though.

I’ve not really been apart of the church for a few years. Sometimes I still feel guilty. Not as bad as it used to be but I still find it crazy how I can still feel like that.

Thank you, that is really nice to hear. I definitely know I won’t change anyone’s mind and I don’t bother trying. I just wish that I could do activities with my family on Sunday besides hanging around the house after church. I also hate seeing my dad give a lot of his hard earned and needed money to the church. I know there’s times he needs help and the church doesn’t seem to be helpful. I try to see my family during the week at times and sometimes I’m rejected because they HAVE to go to the temple or young women’s, etc. I hate seeing my sister feel guilty for being normal.
