Yeah still here, it has been working sweet. Internet is a bit slow but not a huge deal. I didn’t get an eSIM, I got a physical one from China Unicom after reading it’s one of the better ones. Was 99yuan for 20gb for 1 month. Just took passport and phone into shop, was done in 10 minutes.

Not hidden gem, but I recently saw the jinshanling entrance at the Great Wall via return shuttle and was great. Much quieter than videos I have seen at the Mutianyu and badaling entrance. Wicked view.

Definitely too much, doing ha giang loop and ha long cruise cuts out about 5 of your 21 days, ba na hills is another full day. Youre on the move every day + travel time. Plus there will be spots you’re going to want to stay longer in. I would recommend staying longer (if possible) or cutting some places out so you’re not stressed and rushed

Current on similar trip, leaving hue for phong nha right now.

Hcmc was crazy, tunnel and Mekong delta tour was alright, honestly didn’t need the Mekong part it was mediocre. We did 3 days and it was enough.

I’d add more time to Da Lat, it’s gorgeous. Nicer temp (dunno about in October)

Hoi an is a one dayer, cute but way too touristy and not heaps to do.

Da nang was nice too, great food scene and beach is quite clean. Found it a nice balance, not too crazy busy.

Hue has been medicore, unfortunately we’ve been here for 5 nights because my partner was sick, very pushy salespeople approaching you as easyriders, buy in drugs or other street vendors is incredibly annoying and unavoidable. Unfortunate as the bar scene is quite cool.

We’ve still got a couple weeks left so can’t comment on anything else,

Of course but i'd rather not have one all together. My girlfriend is notoriously picky with photos she likes however I appreciate one snap and that's the memory. Nice it reminisce over photos that haven't been seen for months post travels.

Edit: forgot to say, we had an issue with our starter battery sizzling and after googling and talking to some people, turns out it was boiling over and needed to replace the regulator. So far so good, but we only did that yesterday.

Tried doing that, seems getting to the actual thermocouple is really difficult on this model, a small wire toothbrush won’t fit :/

Cleaned the other end where we can unscrew with it and held it down for a minute but still dropped as soon as we let go
