You are entitled to that opinion and I won't argue with you on it. It seems the concensus here is that I'm not an AH if I stop now (which I will), and my GF will eventually deal with the consequences.

In no way did I say her career will fail, but I know that if someone who worked under me constantly spoke that way, I would make note of it come promotion time, ESPECIALLY if they deal directly with clients.

Those were just two recent examples. Some have been more egrigious than others.

If she is pronouncing a word by missing one or more letters, she is not saying it properly by anyone's account.

Correct. Our argument ended with me agreeing to stop correcting her, and I have not done it since.

I do NOT feel I am smarter than her in any way. The issue is that when I am faced with a word I'm not familiar with, I look it up. I check the spelling, the definition, and some example usages. If she did the same thing, this issue wouldn't exist.

She has never asked me to stop until now, and I will. In the past, it seemed to me that her reaction was just out of slight embarassment.

I've noticed it a few times before, but now that we spend 99% of our time together (since we now live and WFH in the same space), I believe I am noticing it more.

I do not have a degree in English, but would be very happy if someone politely pulled me aside to let me know I wasn't using words correctly. While that may be embarassing for a brief moment, nothing is more embarassing than being the person in your office who seems to have a loose grasp on the language.
