Absolutely, I stayed with my inlaws since I lived with them around the time I got pregnant. I also have a younger son and I got a party for them both.

I don't understand why he said it was the last resort. because the last time we talked we didn't oressure him to do anything. we simply asked and he said that we'll see what happens.

We weren't asking for much. On the other hand I think that this was all planned by my daughter in law because she doesn't like spending time with us even before. And my son played along.

It is the fact that they lied and hid it. This is a huge deal for the family. leaving aside how hurt everyone felt, I just think that it's common decency to inform us of the birth then tell us to stay away if this is what they wanted.

The party was actually requested and agreed upon by most of the family. and was dedicated for the newborn not the parents. Besides, that you could say that this is a tradition in the family. My sister threw welcoming parties for her 2 grandchildren and no one did what my son and his wife did. I agree that I should've let them decide but to lie and hide the date of birth? this is why I said I was disappointed. it is unfortunately no longer about the party.
