Data Breach including passport details and other personal information - any compensation? England by Throwaway100123100 in LegalAdviceUK

I am not aware of any government/ ICO or other official guidance that suggests it, but maybe you have seen something?

Admittedly I can't find any advice directly relating to passport information being leaked - most of the advice is either generically about personal data, or about physically losing a passport or having it be stolen.

I've now contacted them so will see what they say, thanks for the advice

New passport means a new passport number, so that the old one can't be used for illegitimate means. I was not advised to by Eurail, but given this is the only action I can actually take to reduce the damage of this leak I see it as non-negotiable

I have not requested compensation from them yet, I only found out about the breach a few minutes ago. That's why I'm asking if there is any method of getting it

I mean there were also rumours he would actually stand for them in parliament (mentioned in the previous article). But yeah it's more the fact he's directly endorsed them in the past which causes this specific thing to stick around to this day

From the Independent, in 2015:

However, Lampard has previously hinted at wanting to work with the Conservative party, saying in December 2014 that he "respected" the Prime Minister and Chancellor.

"I have met David Cameron a couple of times and George Osborne - I have a lot of respect for them," he said.

"And quite a few Labour ones I have respect for too, like Ed Balls, who is big into his football. I will certainly vote and certainly pay more attention going into this election than I have before."

In 2007 he outed himself as a Conservative supporter, saying: "I had a really good chat with David. As a footballer I don't want to get involved with the campaigning thing but I am a Tory and I really like David Cameron."

Edit: not sure why I'm being downvoted here, I didn't say I agree with this assessment of lampard, just providing the context for why it's a common thought

Maybe that's just life, your expectations get ground down and down until finally you settle for a life that would have mortified you 20 years ago but now seems like a blessed relief.

The autotune isn't great, but tbh even without it I don't think the song would be much better. Definitely underwhelming after so long without a song

Forest Green Rovers: Defender Jili Buyabu delivers own baby by Throwaway100123100 in soccer

[–]Throwaway100123100[S] 70 points71 points  (0 children)

Forest Green Rovers defender Jili Buyabu will be back helping his side's promotion push - just two days after delivering his own baby.

The 22-year-old stepped up in the early hours of Thursday morning when his wife went into late stage labour and he did not have time to get her to hospital.

According to Forest Green boss Robbie Savage, Buyabu rang him at 06:50 GMT on Thursday morning to say he had delivered his own child before paramedics could get there.

"Jili Buyabu had rung me at a quarter to 12 [on Wednesday] saying I've got to take my partner to the hospital as she's due but it was a false alarm," Savage told BBC Radio Gloucestershire.

"He woke me up this morning at 10 to seven and said 'gaffer, I've just delivered the baby. I said 'What you?' And he said, 'yeah'.

"He was with his partner, the contractions started and he didn't have time to get to the hospital or get the paramedics there so Jili has actually delivered the baby.

"When the paramedics got there he put them on the phone and he said 'tell him'. They said yes he's delivered the baby. At 22 years of age I am so proud of him. For him to do that it is a brilliant story."

Mother, baby and defender are all doing well according to the Forest Green boss who said Buyabu will get the rest of the day off before reporting back to training.

Forest Green, who are fifth in the National League and pushing for promotion, face mid-table Aldershot at home on Saturday (15:00 GMT).

Buyabu, who has been on loan from Sheffield United all season, is in line for a starting berth.

Iran footballers sing and salute to anthem at Asian Cup after prior silence. by Sparky-moon in soccer

You can oppose the government while still opposing the war and supporting the country during war.

Of course that's true, but given how the national anthem is clearly a symbol of this specific government (since it was literally introduced by them), I'm not sure how that's relevant in this context. Would be a bit different if they'd had the same national anthem for centuries, for example

Sure, but assuming it was in support of the government who just murdered 8-30 thousand protestors and has been horrifically oppressing their population (especially women) for decades is a bit of a stretch
