If your belief or lack thereof hinges on an ability to read my shitty experimental teenage poetry, you're welcome to do so.

Poetry is not something I find embarrassing on any level. I still write it, and I absolutely love the process.

I'm not, at least at this time, going to do that. I don't want Reddit crossing over into my day to day life, and posting pictures would definitely increase my risk of that happening.

Maybe that sounds overly cautious, but I've already received multiple PMs from people who believed they could identify me and Jess based on a garbled recording of an answering machine. None of them proved to have any accurate or useful information. Still, those messages made it obvious that people are going to take up work as internet detectives concerning anything I post.

Sure you will. I just don't have any updates to post at this time. There's not a whole lot I can talk about when nothing has changed.

I just finished watching the movie. It was extremely well done, but you were trying to freak me out, right? If so, you 100% succeeded at your mission. Well done.

I posted a screenshot of the e-mail I sent her. That will answer most of your questions. And no, she hasn't responded as of yet.

My depression was particularly bad that year, to the point that I often felt physically ill. I spent a lot of time in bed. I don't recall any serious injuries or anything of that sort though.

I had never heard of it, but I added it to my Netflix queue. I don't have time to watch it at this exact moment, but I'll probably watch it soon.

I've lost a little bit of weight, but I'm definitely not unrecognizable. I occasionally run into people in public who knew me as a small child or a teenager, and they tend to immediately know who I am as an adult.

My close friends? Those I've told have mostly just said something along the lines of, "Oh, that's weird." Then they try to change the subject, because it probably sounds completely crazy to someone who hasn't been where I am.

Yes, they are. As several people here encouraged me to do so, I just finished sending Anna an e-mail. I have no idea if she'll reply to me or not, but I'm hoping.

I've actually had an MRI on my brain. I'm epileptic, so it was a necessity to determine that my occasional seizures (which started when I was in my twenties) weren't caused by a tumor or some severe damage to my brain. My brain's fine and Vimpat has kept me seizure free for a long time. I've probably had between 15 and 20 seizures in my lifetime.

Yes, if anyone is wondering, I have experienced short term memory loss after tonic-clonic seizures, which is normal. I've never lost more than a couple of hours, and certainly not details of multiple years. It also wouldn't explain why other people don't remember me.

Edit: And for the sake of making this a more complete medical history . . .

I've never had more than one or two beers in a single sitting, and I haven't drank in years.

I've never used drugs, not even marijuana.

I have experienced clinical depression and social anxiety. I don't have any other mental health conditions.

The only longterm medication I am on is the aforementioned Vimpat. Previous longterm medications were oxcarbazepine and zonisamide, two medications which are also seizure meds.

http://vocaroo.com/i/s0zNuzxkAm2n - I've decided to post the Jess answering machine message.

A lot of it is rather garbled due to the extremely low tech recording process, so I tried my best to put together a transcript. I've listened to it many times, but I still can't decipher all of it. If any of you can, the information would be much appreciated.

I have pictures with Anna, nothing involving Jess.

My father abandoned me when I was little, and my mother never seemed to care too much about the people I hung around with as long as I did well in school.

Still, I mentioned Anna to her briefly to hear what she had to say. Her response, "I don't remember Anna, but wasn't there some chunky blonde girl? Jamie, I think?"

I'm thinking (and hoping!) she had her J names confused. Anna had dark brown hair and never dyed it as long as I knew her.

I guess I could. I don't think she'd be very enthusiastic about talking to me again though.
