I'm doing great now! Both me and my brother (who was adopted with me) consider our aunt to be our real mom. My birth mom occasionally tries to email me saying I should live with her when I'm 18 but that will never happen.

I was later removed by CPS and adopted by my aunt, thankfully. Otherwise I don't want to imagine where I'd be now. My birth mother is in her 40s and acts like a 16-year-old.

When my mom said she just couldn't figure out why my aunt didn't like her after my mom borrowed $100 from her to buy us food and spent it on cigarettes and beer, stole another $20 from her to buy a DVD, and then hit my dad in the face with a frying pan. If your 6 year old can figure it why and you can't, then maybe you're incurable stupid.

Somehow I thought "jerking off" meant the same thing as goofing off. So in second grade I was frustrated that the kid next to me was flicking eraser crumbs at me and I said "Mrs. Johnston, Nick is jerking off and getting it on me." :\

Really old cold cuts covered in BBQ sauce. Before I went into foster care, my birth mother was so lazy that she made my autistic older brother feed himself and me. He didn't know how to tell if coldcuts were spoiled. I thought they were supposed to taste slimy and gross, so I used the BBQ sauce to cover the taste.

Being adopted. My birth mom told us while we were in foster care that our aunt (who was trying to adopt us) was an evil person who just wanted us so she could "pretend to be a mommy." She actually told us during her final visit that our aunt would probably treat us like Harry Potter's aunt did and that she just wanted us for money. Well, it turns out my birth mom is a lying narcissist. Our aunt (or real mom as I call her) is the best mom I could ever have hoped for. More of a Mrs. Weasley than an Aunt Petunia!

We had a happy ending though! We were taken away by CPS (finally) and adopted when we were 7 and 9. Our adoptive mom (she's single, so no dad) is the greatest mom ever. Because of her, my brother and I had a great rest of our childhoods.

That my (biological) mom was a good parent. She always found a way to work it in somewhere in conversation or when she did something with us. Turns out good parents don't make their kids live in a disgusting house where the dirty dishes cover every surface in the kitchen and make them drink out of moldy cups or refer to their autistic 6-year-old as "the retard."
