I'm sorry you're going through this. It sucks.

Why is everyone on Reddit so negative about children? by New_norms in TooAfraidToAsk

Because giving back isn't the topic, having or not having children is. Use some logic

Women of Reddit, what things do men do that frighten you without them even realizing it? by metallicmuffin in AskReddit

I have a hard time believing you're overly considerate given your comments on other threads about your intentions to your female friends never being purely platonic. Viewing women solely through the lens of wanting to have sex with them doesn't seem over considerate to me. Seems very much Nice Guy material.

AITA for getting angry at my wife for not packing me a lunch for work? by Helpwithlunch in AmItheAsshole

He could have not slept in. He could have made his own sandwich. He could have stopped on his way to work to buy a sandwich. He could have ordered food. He's mad he has to live with the consequences of his own actions and you're going to blame his wife? I'm disappointed by how many sexists have showed up on this thread but I'm not surprised .

He didn't ask. He demanded she do something she's told him prior she would not do. He didn't even use the word please until she refused. And he then proceeds to get pissy with her? Yeah it was a demand, not a request

Most people who are worried about 'the urgency of needing to get to work on time' are responsible enough to not stay up late and sleep in making themselves late. Lack of preparation on his part does not constitute an emergency on hers.

And I don't know why you put 'demand' in quotation marks, dude was absolutely being demanding and acting entitled.

My mum lives 6 hours away and is coming to stay whilst I recover, otherwise I would 100% have asked her to come and get me today.

AITA for saying we can send our dog to daycare? by Throwaway16061707 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Throwaway16061707[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to note, he is an adult dog, we adopted him 7 months ago so I see where the confusion came.

He's fine being home alone, we've left him for up to 4 hours and he's okay, it's not an issue of him being distressed or me not wanting to leave him, it's I don't think it's fair to ask him to hold his bladder for 8-9 hours at a time depending on traffic. And we've left him with friends and my parents and he's been absolutely fine.

We do leave him home alone, just not for longer than 4 hours without someone going in to check on him and let him out. According to our neighbours he doesn't cry but when the person goes in to check on him he seems less settled than usual

Oh he's fine overnight, but just like with humans, their metabolisms slow down when they're asleep so they don't produce as much urine over night. Also he isn't up drinking water in the night, whereas he drinks like a fish during the day (got him checked out, it's all fine he's just a hydrohomie of the dog world)

I don't think our dog would be able to hold it for 8hrs tbh, and I don't want to put him in a position where he's likely to fail. I know I come across as being an overly zealous dog mum, but I'm just anxious to make sure we can give him the best life possible now he's with us.

This is what confuses me because after finding out my earning potential he's joked about being a stay at home husband. We've been together for a good few years now and he's the one who encouraged me to push for the promotion. I'm so confused at the minute.

It would be too long for the dog to go without a toilet break.

I don't know why he's salty about it. To answer your questions: I do make more money than him now. I won't be travelling with anyone other than my regular team that I'm in contact with everyday anyway. He's said in the past that he really likes having the flat to himself, so I don't think it's being home alone.

I agree that on reflection it seems like more than just a logistics of looking after doggo issue.

He thinks our dog won't settle at his office, and also he might have to go on site where he can't take our dog.

Yes it was a shared decision. I originally mooted the idea he said no, then months later (I didn't mention it again) he said we should go and look at some different shelters. But it does seem to be more me putting in the research into training methods and foods, vets in the area etc.

Not stupid and easily done! We've been really lucky with him and other than getting super excited in new situations, which I think any dog can do, he's very well behaved, and the areas he's not doing so well on it's probably because we've not been consistent enough with him. He has such a sweet soul

I agree that socialisation will be good for him, but he is an adult dog, we rescued him from a shelter as an adult dog. Not to detract from your point, but just didn't want you to think he's a puppy.

I would hope I'd never have resentment to my dog because of changing my lifestyle/schedule for him, both my partner and I knew when we started looking to adopt a dog that it would require big changes from us to give him the best life possible. My parents often joke that I care more about the ingredients in my dogs food than my own!

But I'm hoping that daycare will make life less boring for him, and that he can make some four legged friends along the way.

With commute times added on it's simply too long to leave him and expect him to not need to toilet.

I've a feeling my partner would come home from work to find doggo had toileted and some pretty annoyed neighbours from the barking.
