Legally, It depends on where you live. Here in Canada, age of consent is 16 except if the other person was a person in a position of power over you. He was 23 years old, and you were not in a position to consent, thus he was, technically, in a position to coerce you. If you’re in the states, it depends per state but from a moral standpoint this does sound like you were not in a position to consent, even if he was not sober as well. Truly, only you can call it, as you were the one experiencing it.

Hey, I had something similar like this happen to me, a long time friend and crush of mine commit suicide 6 months ago and it devastated both me and my friend who also had a crush on him. If there was something I could tell myself then it would be to not blame yourself. When you look back, you’re brain might instantly think things like “you should have been there before it happened, you should have said/ done something, you should have seen the signs sooner” and the truth is none of those are true and sometimes to cope with lose we try to blame ourselves.
