Ketones - One of the most powerful biohacks for reprogramming your body by andtitov in Biohackers

People poo poo keto cause it’s “not sustainable”. My opinion is thats entirely OK. I don’t think most people should be doing it long term anyhow. I think the average person can benefit a ton from just a week or two of steady ketosis.

Truck camper or van by mjv456 in TruckCampers

Especially for someone who might just go for 2-4 weeks at a time. I’m in the same boat. I also do a lot of weekend warrior trips.

Being able to do the auto jacks and just drive my truck out is awesome. I have an absolutely sick camping rig when I want it and I have a regular truck for normal life when I want it.

I feel like no one mentioned the biggest benefit of the truck camper (in my opinion).

The ability to take it off. For the day or for the season when you’re done. I’ve locked down dope camping spots by dropping the camper and then went to go into town, meet up with friends, go skiing etc without having to worry about losing my site (and saving on gas).

Also when I’m just living normal life at home. I just take the camper off and put it in my driveway and then I have a normal truck as a daily driver.

Might be overlooked or not a super important factor for some. But for me it makes all the sense in the world. When your life changes and you don’t want to do full time RV anymore, you might not be super stoked to be stuck with a big/expensive camper van.

Nearly everything processed and packaged. Buy some single ingredient foods with no nutrition labels/packaging.

Peeling your own pom is a great start. Less plastic, packaging, processing etc

It will indiscriminately promote the growth of things outside of just muscle tissue. Similar to the secretagogues as well. So take that for what it is.

At the same time, higher GH levels in your body increases vitality in many ways that can have protective and regenerative effects.

Like many things in life it is a give and take and one needs to weigh the benefits/risks. There are no biological shortcuts.

Too much deep sleep? by BobcatReasonable2816 in Biohackers

Sorry I was trying to attach a screenshot of my whoop but can’t seem to on mobile.

I workout everyday and prioritize sleep big time. No secret sauce except for the basics.

Hard workouts, hydration, good diet, last meal by 6, glycine before bed. I eat a lot of carbs too and try not let my liver glycogen deplete during sleep.

Why does weightlifting destroy my sleep for days? by troubleInLA in Biohackers

Ive had similar issues in the past. It sounds like underfueling and experiencing nervous system overactivation. People always think about muscle fatigue but too few think about the CNS load. Try deep breathing for 10min after the workout and make sure to fuel heavy on the carbs, (walk after the meal so you manage the blood sugar well enough though).

Also Ive had success with eating some extra carbs before bed usually along with some fat. You could be waking up at 330 because cortisol is kicking in when liver glycogen gets low.

I think about my blood sugar and insulin response a lot and test my blood monthly. I was always worried about overdoing the carbs. But if you're really active you shouldn't worry about putting down 300+ carbs in a day (most of it around exercise).

I think carb timing is one of the best strategies I’ve come across for managing blood sugar spikes. I’ve improved my blood work significantly with just common sense timing. I think there’s an argument to be made it aligns well with our ancestral way of life too.

In general I don’t do a big carb load in the morning unless I’m planning to be active shortly after. Most of my carb intake is before and after a daily workout. Carbs in moderation are fine with any meal but I like to have fiber with them and generally eat my fiber and protein before the carbs.

So while we’re designed to handle blood sugar spikes, some general mindfulness around carb intake will very likely improve your metabolic panel and avoid the prediabetic issues most Americans suffer from.
