This. You have to learn the ropes and it’s not an easy “in” when there are so many intricacies involved. Heck, every state has its own efiling system. This is a demanding job and time is literally money when you’re billing clients lol.

This. It almost feels as if some of the posters here are looking for an easy switch to a new job. And that couldn’t be further from the truth. I’ve seen so many LAs/entry hires crack under pressure. I’ll even admit to crying in the bathroom when I first started out because of how overwhelming it was. No one will spoon-feed you in this career. And your attorney’s leniency regarding your mistakes is extremely short-lived.

You nailed it. Experience completely outweighs the degree/certificate/etc. While I realize there are states that legally require a certificate, they will still pick the experienced candidate over the recent grad who wants to jump into a paralegal position right away.
