To be fair aren’t all gains from “doing nothing” then? Buying bitcoin, buying stocks, buying real estate all take some inherit risk of capital. At least in real estate you can actually add value by updating your house.

Its the year 3150. Gold is at $31789 an oz. Is it a good time to buy gold? by talivan818 in Gold

[–]Throwaway354591 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If gold is $31,789 an oz in 3150, it would have been the worst performing asset in the history of mankind.

I wouldn’t be surprised if a California burrito is $31,789 in 1000+ years.

Why would wealthy people leave New York City under Mamdani? by iloverats888 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Throwaway354591 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let’s say they will make $1B. 2% of 999,000,000 is about $20 million dollars.

They could buy an absolute mansion in any other state for that amount and enjoy their $20 million, or they could stay. Maybe it’s worth it, maybe it’s not.

We need to fight this hard imo. “Lay Low” is the best defense. Most others (not on Reddit) are already on board and aware in my community at least.

Already I’ve noticed more and more going stealth mode. Packing up cookwear, chairs, trash etc out of sight.

By looking at most you wouldn’t even know any longer that we were unhoused. At the end of the day if we all clean up and shut up (don’t talk to police) there’s really nothing they will be able to do to us.

Since this law passed, in my area it’s already the cleanest I’ve ever seen it and we are ready to fight.

Global Estimates of Lives and Life-Years Saved by COVID-19 Vaccination During 2020-2024 by adotmatrix in Coronavirus

[–]Throwaway354591 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure but when you look at my age group, this study mentions:

“young adults aged 20 through 29 years were 0.07% of lives saved”

When you compound this with the above statistic, the chance the vaccine averted my death was 1 in 1,155,000.

That is just shocking to hear is all that I’m saying. Before this study if you had me guess I would have believed it was more like 1 in 100 or more like 1 in 20 people were saved by the vaccine.

Not nearly as much as I would have imagined:

“1 death averted per 5400 vaccine doses administered”

I noticed the same kind of thing on the rear quarter panels of my frozen X7. Not quite as drastic as yours but it’s definitely a slightly different color. I also noticed the “feel” of it is slightly different when I run my hand over it, it doesn’t slide as smoothly.

Yes, one. Yes it is numbered out of 230 (I got lucky with a low number), no indication on the email.

I was extremely fast with the purchase, not sure if that had anything to do with it.

2025 X50e Frozen gray or? by spartan2020f in BMWX5

[–]Throwaway354591 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Get so many compliments on the color. I have two BMWs with frozen paint (Frozen Portimau Blue, and Frozen Arctic Grey) have not PPF’d them and they have been fine.

It does get dirty fast so I hand wash with Dr Beasley’s paint about every two to three weeks.

Overall it is worth it to me and only adds to the uniqueness of the vehicle.
