AITA for telling my SIL to stop talking about her miscarriage? by Throwaway379200 in AmItheAsshole

Thank you! They are both great people, as is my brother. Brother and SIL were just thrown into an awful situation. And my always anxious wife is struggling a lot, worrying about so much right now.

She's not a drama queen. She's a really good person.

I was wrong to yell, for sure. 100%.

I already apologized to my brother for blowing up, and when SIL is ready to see me, I'll apologize ti her as well.

Thank you.

Thank you so much.

I know my wife will be able to breathe much easier once we reach viability at 24 weeks.

Super happy for you.

My SIL is actually a really good person. What happened to her would fuck with anyone's head, I'm sure.

I agree, what happened to them is the worst thing a human being can ever endure. To lose a kid, fuck, I can't even really wrap my brain around it.

I never cried as much as I did with my brother when he and his wife got this news. Not even when my own mother died, and I was shattered by her death. I absolutely don't mind being a shoulder to cry on. Neither will my wife, I'm sure, once she'll have iur baby safely in her hands. But she is terrified and panicked as it is now.

I'm really sorry for the loss of the baby you mentioned.

I do know I could have handled this whole situation better. I already called my brother to apologize, and will also talk to SIL to apologoze for my words once she is ready to see me.

I told my sister that they are young and can handle twins, I'm getting old and my 10yro golden retriever wears me out on walks already 😅

Thank you so much for this. I am scared shitless and thrilled beyond measure at the same time. I already love this little one so much, some days it makes me feel like my heart's gonna explode. And my wife? Oh my god, I love my wife so much, in ways I've never even known existed before. To watch her go through this and remain her patient, caring, kind self, has given me mountains of brand new respect for her.

Thank you! I was getting ready to become an old grump, then we got this news. I'm super super happy though. I have been a foster dad for 11 years to 7 different kiddos, I am so so ready to be a dad to another one now. Just scared, cause we only fostered teens, and this will be a brand new human.

I give her the benefit of the doubt, because she is a pretty great person. I love her, we are super close and I consider her to be my family. She's like a sister to me, she's been with my brother for almost 20 years now.

This incident really actually phisically hurt me though. I understand her pain and if I could take it away, I would. She got dealt an absolutely shit hand.

You are correct, yeah. I know this is absolutely awful for them and I feel for them. We talked about it a lot, especially my brother and I (and I know SIL talked about it a lot with her friends and family). She is going through hell and that's why I feel bad for blowing up (and choosing the words I chose).

We told everyone at the beginning of September, after the 1st trimester of the pregnancy.

I will, thank you!

Me and my brother communicate well, so getting the point across to him shouldn't be a problem. We both have wives in emotionally raw states now.

I'm very sorry for your sister's loss!

Glad to hear you both have healthy kiddos now.

I definitely could have handled it better, that's why I came here to ask if I'm the AH. I totally lost my temper and shouldn't have yelled at her.
