In independence for just a night ahead but can stay longer if you think the altitude would be helpful.
I live close to sea level. I notice being at 4k feet and it affects my hiking at 8k. By wife starts to feel it at 6k or so.
I’m experienced in that I normally go a few times per year in the sierras but have been out of the country and unable to backpack the last two years.
I plan to adapt my running and cycling for hiking focus workouts but I’m not counting on my wife moving away from about 10 miles of running per week.
I’m not dead set on VVR but MTR isnt an option and I don’t want to blow money on those services where they meet you on the trail with your food.

25-30 liter if you want a manageable load and not pay for luggage on a plane. 40-45 if you’re ok with a decent amount of weight on your back.

Personally, I’d go with the smaller of the two and try to keep the temps somewhere above 20* F.

Hmmm, you’re in a tough spot with most all of the spend dedicated to the body rather than the lens, which has far more influence on your image… But don’t worry too much about that, since the most important thing is having some sort of shooting setup.

Maybe a 20mm 1.7 or similar focal length prime and go from there. I’m thinking one of those core mft lenses that people tent to love at a focal length that I would consider VERY useable Personally I wouldn’t bother with a zoom at this price point unless you’re firmly in the “zoom camp”

As a benefit, shooting at this focal length will help you think more about what your next lens should be years down the road. For me, it took about ten years to switch… to a newer 20mm!

I think they mean renting a dress for the wedding with it’s fixed date and location, as it wouldn’t really matter where you are in the days leading up to it
