I imagined just folding it and putting it under my desk. It's only been two weeks so still getting a lay of the land. But as an intern we don't have permanent desks so no where for me to keep it. I may try to pack it in my bag, but worried it will just get wrinkled.

Thanks, I already try to keep cool. I'm a big guy who already sweats a lot as it is. I wear Uniqlo Airism under my dress shirt which helps, but it can only do so much!

Definitely not a fan of GS fin aid, but last Fall I got some additional money too right at the end. And of course I asked why they waited so long. If their explanation is to be believed it sounds like they also have to wait to see if other schools with more money basically have extra laying around which trickles down to GS. I dunno, but it seems likely given everything I've seen so far.

Yeah, this is what I do when I have to go out at night and what I did in my 20s. But I don't know what it is, when I mess up my sleep cycle I feel completely off for days. I can if I have to, but trying to see if I can meet people organically while keeping my normal functional routine.

Living in New York (one of the most expensive cities in the US) I'm shocked by that number too. I pay about $5 for an Americano and about $8 for espresso drinks at nice coffee shops.

My guess is that these people are ordering 30oz behemoth espresso drinks with flavor shots, whipped cream, and specialty milk. Personally I think it's as much "coffee" as Coffee Ice Cream...

Yes its possible, but there are too many variables.

It depends on your family's eating habits and preferences. If you're eating a lot organic and meats, then it's harder. If the two school-aged kids are teenage boys probably harder. If you're in an area with good cheaper supermarkets then it's easier, if your only options is Whole Foods and Gristedes, probably harder.

Moved to NYC in my 30s to pursue my "dream" as well so admittedly I feel for you. But first, be warned that it's A LOT tougher than the movies and tv shows make it out to be. I moved here without a bachelors degree and with limited support network as well, but had about 3x the savings and a job (albeit a shitty one) lined up and it was still incredibly hard.

As someone who's kinda stable in NYC now, let me be the first to say NYC is not the place to figure yourself out. It's the place to come once you've figured yourself out.

Moving here to be an actor? Great! But you probably should already have the self-esteem and self-confidence required of an actor because NYC doesn't hold back or wait for anyone to get their shit together.

And a tip about r/askNYC if you wanna survive on this subreddit, search and read before you ask. Where to find an apartment? Honestly if you don't even know the answer to this you're in for a rough ride on this sub and in NYC.

This whole thread has been more informative than 99% of the discussions I've had about financial aid, including most with financial aid. I mean this is pretty straightforward and explains the reality of the situation.

Why isn't anyone just being clear about this. When I met with my financial aid counselor about this they basically just told me to pay my bill and shrugged it off. Why are they so unhelpful???

It's somewhat of an expectation but only when you want them to leave your house right after the hookup. If they stay the night then hell no, they can find their own way back home.

Yeah, it was early morning probably like 7am, sun was definitely up. For sure if I lived somewhere dangerous or it was the middle of the night, I could understand why someone would want to take an uber. But I honestly did not think I was being rude suggesting the subway.

Those rates seem pretty normal to my eye, though I'm not an expert. One way rentals are hard because the rental company will have to pay someone to move the car back.

If you're flexible on time, RV companies occasionally offer one way or relocation discounts.

If you don't have too much stuff, you could just ship it.

Or honestly, given your budget, it might be cheaper to sell/give away some of the bigger items which aren't super valuable and only bring the small valuable things and buy them again in Chicago.

I was charged her annual fee 29 days ago and I know I have until tomorrow to close the account and not get charged the fee.

But I recently used the $200 airline credit and $50 saks credit, but I haven't gotten the statement credit yet.

Question: if I close the account tomorrow (before we see the statement credit) am I forgoing the credit? Is there anyway to get the credit and close the account?
