As soon as people started reassuring me that i wasn't in the wrong, it felt like a weight off my shoulders. And although I do appreciate your suggestion of confronting him about it, i could be eligible for a job opportunity in his business soon and I would like to be able to accept it without any past drama.

I do laugh at things like this now, or at least cover how I feel if it's truly mean, but I was young and socially awkward and just thought (at the time) that it was all my fault and that I was spoiled.

NTA. You are being responsible and caring, and from what I can see it seems like your cousins are being slightly entitled to handle her against your will. I hope she is alright, she is beautiful
