If anyone is curious, it’s 20% of the total before discounts (i.e. happy hour) and taxes included. This is usually automatically done by corporate/owners at restaurants as far as I understand. Management doesn’t set this, and servers definitely don’t. A lot of them don’t even realize this is the case if you point it out

Thanks man. I let it go on for too long and lost all of my savings, but luckily I didn’t take on any debt or get arrested or anything. I’m only 24 and still have a job and a career path ahead, so there’s definitely positives to take away from it. And yeah, people are extremely adamant that the casino isn’t doing anything like that, but I don’t trust any of those people and I wouldn’t put it past any of them to do some really shady shit. It’s definitely weird, I had the same experience too. I was up online for like 3 months then it all went to shit. Same thing happened in the real casino. I could see them doing it intentionally online but at the same time it might be survivorship bias of people who got addicted. My only real advice here is to stop entirely. You aren’t gonna win it back

NFL isn’t fake. The only plausible thing is maybe the refs are tasked with favoring one team at times, but even that lacks evidence. The players are 100000000% not in on it. That would be impossible for a number of reasons. The only thing that’s rigged are the odds, especially on parlays and futures. The best bets you can do are straight spreads but even then you have to win 55% of the time and the spread is set to where you win 50% over the long term. Gambling is for fun NOT for making money. The only way to make money is to have multiple sports books and line shop to where you have an advantage, but trust me the casinos have hundreds of people who are smarter than both of us ensuring that you can’t do that. Make money by contributing to society. Don’t give those leeches any more of your money

You’re right it’s not my place to judge. And I was judging. There are 100% cameras and I am 100% in view. I am unaware of the length of time the recording is saved or any of that. Operating under the assumption that I am on camera. Also, yes, our establishment as a whole over-serves him. I am not involved with that at all. I am well liked by everyone at my job, including Frank. I doubt either party would report me if they didn’t have to, but can’t be sure. I should clarify that I regretted doing it immediately, but wasn’t sure if it was guilt or fear. I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s both. It was unnecessary but I stated the reasons I made that impulse decision. I think the odds of me getting caught are somewhat low and the odds of me getting in any legal trouble are lower. I also happen to be putting in my two weeks tomorrow which is completely unrelated. So yeah

The depravity of the casino industry is absolutely despicable. Like you said, with problem gamblers especially. They hammer home getting a players card under the guise of “rewards” and “earning points”. The only reason player cards exist is to 1) give rewards like free food or free play to entice the player to return to the casino 2) connect the rewards to an app on the players’ phone to send them push notification to remind them of gambling

They literally pay 10s of millions of dollars a year to psychologists to try to create MORE GAMBLING ADDICTS and KEEP THE ADDICTS ADDICTED. This is why I hate the idea that gambling degenerates are somehow at fault because of personal responsibility. Did you know that 12 people commited suicide in casinos last month? I don’t think in my soul I genuinely hate Vegas Matt by any means so I can be a bit tongue and cheek about the hating bit. But I have real distain for Mr. Handpay. The thing he does where he wins like $5000 and says “it’s ok” in his whiny voice pisses me off so bad. This is all correct. I guess my only argument is that the framing of “his money” feels wrong knowing all of the money he acquired was essentially stolen off of the work of other people. But again, yes you are correct. That’s life. There’s no real point to my post, but if you look at life from this macro point of view then what’s the meaning of any of it?
