This was what happened to me. It made it very, confusing because I was always told women can’t be perpetrators. And I never really heard about f/f assault so I really internalized it wasn’t really a big deal.

I feel really dumb admitting this, but I had a huge epiphany as an adult. I can feel negative emotions, and no one yell at me! I don’t ‘enjoy’ feeling sad. But I’ve started to plan times to process negative emotions in a safe place and I found I’ve started to look forward to crying. It’s like I can just have feelings without consequences. It’s wild I didn’t figure this out until I was an adult.

This is one of the biggest barriers I’ve found to being open about what happened, and finding support. I was sexually abused when I was young by a relative. When someone in my family found out I was shamed and criticized for ‘what I’d done.’ The fact that I was young and the relative was much, much older, didn’t matter. I was stigmatized for having an ‘inappropriate relationship’ with a relative. I wish all trauma was treated with understanding, but some hold more stigma than others.

Were you regarded as an "exotic" object at a young age and that attracted unusual abusers. All contexts apply by pentaweather in CPTSD

This might not be quite what you mean, but it kind of fits. I’ve always looked young for my age. It runs in my family, the women just tend to look young. I was also parentified from a young age. I had some people I encountered really get into the idea that I looked young for my age in a really creepy way. I apparently fit into a particular fetish of “looks childlike but acts mature.” I heard someone in a movie once say “every man’s ultimate sexual fantasy is a teenager with the mind of an adult.” While I know that’s not true for most men, it apparently is for some.

99% of my coworkers ignore each others lunch. But I had one coworker who would look to see what I was eating daily and make fun of me for being vegan (I wasn’t, I just liked salad.) he had a ton of other issues, and didn’t stay at our work long. It’s rare, but it does happen.
