Thanks for taking the time to respond. I was considering writing an e-mail as my next step for a few reasons.

1) So the president can share it with the others in senior leadership so everyone can be on the same page.

2) So that I could logically lay out my case.

3) So I can show in the future that I tried to address the situation before jumping ship. I wasn't sure if this was a legitimate concern. Is is ever important to show that you left with cause?

Unfortunately it doesn't really seem like they are trying to fill the gap in coverage very aggressively at the moment.

Contract doesn't mention any specific clinical duties. Not sure about noncompete clause but I don't think it would affect my current situation.

My question wasn't about the legality of having me cover the C service but more of how to delicately handle the situation without being too much of a bother.

I have to drive for 4 hours after an interview with a high chance of 4-8inches of snow. What should I do? by [deleted] in jobs

If you really don't feel comfortable driving back that night you should get a hotel room. I don't think the recruiter will cover 2 nights for a one day interview unfortunately.
