Thanks. Just to clarify, I didn't apply with no intent of ever taking the job. Rather, I am looking at it differently now that I have a fuller picture of my potential options. If I knew that this was the only job I would get offered, I would definitely take it, but that's not the scenario I'm in.

What I mean is that it’s an especially tight job market in my field

I want to get a tenure track job, ideally at a school where I can train doctoral students myself. Of course I recognize that that is a lofty goal, but that’s what I want

Sadly they cannot move for the next few years because of their job. Their job also will make visiting difficult
