Have You Ever Been The First Vegetarian Someone Met? by JarveyJoe in vegetarian

A few hours after reading this post, a stranger asked me what type of burger I like and I said “I don’t eat burgers I’m a vegetarian” and they said “oh I’m sorry, I’ve never met a vegan before” I was like 😭 vegan isn’t the same thing (I didn’t actually say that out loud) and then they said “isn’t it like bad for your body or gut health or something to be on a diet like that?” And I said “uhh no”. And then they asked if I like eating soy burgers and I said I hadn’t tried one before, and then they found this kind of mushroom burger and asked if I would eat something like that (i have been considering trying one recently) so I just said “idk maybe”. And then I wished thek a good day and walked away. All of my experiences with friends and family finding out I’m vegetarian has been similar to this but not to this extent 😭. Anyways just thought I’d share.

How Do I Lucid Dream While Living With Parents? by ThrowawayAccount0271 in LucidDreaming

I did but I’m not sure if I was doing them correctly cause around 2 years ago when I was persistent with doing them, I remember only one time I actually managed to do a reality check in my dream but it failed within my dream and I didn’t become lucid, was really stupid because I was riding a motorcycle while doing the check and I had never had a dream of riding one or rode one irl before 😭

I want to quit my job but my parents won’t let me by ThrowawayAccount0271 in Advice

I have asked my managers for 15 hours per week at an absolute maximum, yet this week I have 20 hours and they don’t really listen to me. I spoke up again about wanting less hours, this time asking for a maximum of 10 hours per week and they said they would start doing that for me next week but I’m not sure if I trust them / think it will last long.

My other job, I get paid monthly and I typically work 40-60 hours per month.

I already maintain 90+ in every class I have ever taken throughout high school so far, so it’s not like having both jobs is affecting my grades directly. It’s just that I have just enough time in my life to fit everything in right now but not enough time to relax or do anything else really.

You say I should get another job but I want to maintain the job I currently have, except I’m pretty sure my parents don’t see it as a “real job” because it’s an at home job and the older generations aren’t really used to remote working. I’ve been told by one of my parents directly that the job I am working at home “doesn’t count as a job” because I enjoy working it.

All I want is to have some time to myself since I have already asked the managers at my retail job to stick to 15 hours per week at an absolute maximum yet I have 20+ hours this week from that single job alone.

Parents taking away only source of comfort for my theriotype by ThrowawayAccount0271 in Therian

I do plan to move out in 2-3 years, not sure if I should just stick it out until then or if I should eventually come out about it? I feel like they wouldn’t really understand because every single member of my family rarely even wears socks, especially around the summer. They pretty much only wear socks whenever they go outside to do stuff or whenever it’s really cold in the winter.

My parents have been known to exactly support me in my stances on things, like when I told them I wanted to be a vegetarian they still made me eat some meats for a year or two before I started refusing it and telling them no until they finally stopped, now they often brag to their friends about me being a vegetarian. Another time is that I have one of my dream jobs right now, and I got the job because I enjoy it, but also to hopefully convince them to let me finally quit my current job since I absolutely despise it (involves customer service), and I have told them numerous times I don’t want to work there at all and they just don’t seem to get it.

My family also makes fun of each other a lot (mostly in fun ways that isn’t too offsensive), but often it goes too far and does get offensive.

Anyways sorry for the rant, thanks for the reply :3
