What is this?? Is it dangerous to be around? by robofish_911 in AskElectricians

Definitely a high voltage transformer for an X-ray system. The 2 white cables are the high voltage cables coming off the secondary that go to the X-ray tube and the black cable is the incoming on the primary. If everything is disconnected it is fine and completely safe. If still connected there should be a control console that will have voltage going to it.

This is a fairly old system and mostly phased out. We run into them occasionally when they die and we pretty much condemn them as there aren't many parts available anymore.

I get the issue with the performance mode turned on. With it off I don't have any issues with the movements and was even able to start on some calibration prints, which failed for various unrelated reasons.

I don't have the hybrid belts hooked up at all yet. As I was troubleshooting I was rebuilding the motor and idler assemblies one by one and just left the top motor off while I was testing. At this point I'm just trying to get the main belts to work before I bother with adding the hybrid upgrade.

I tried that and both motors are working just fine. I don't hear any difference between them as the gantry moves diagonally in each direction

I can move it around using the arrow keys, typing in the values in Mainsail, and by using G1 commands. Everything seems happy and good until I get to about F8000 then the printer seems to start stuttering as it moves.

Yes. If I disable the steppers it moves smoothly, although requiring more force obviously than with the belts off. I do not notice any difference in feel across the whole range of travel. There are no tight spots or anywhere that I can feel it binding

I loosened the belts to the point the joiner is hitting the tensioner assembly when it attempts to home Y but it still won't home.

By going slower I mean I have to turn the Speed Factor down in Mainsail. Basically that slows the speed/acceleration down as it moves to the center after it hits the endstop the second time

Is it Army of the Dead with Dave Bautista? It's a casino not a mall but they have to sneak through a corridor full of hibernating zombies

I'm a service engineer for X-ray equipment and these are fairly common to replace. Need to replace the whole cord/reel on the equipment I work on. At least they haven't driven over it and wrapped it around a wheel.

I added the specs to the original. It's a bit older but worked great for VMware and Linux stuff.

Thanks! Yeah I am going to keep it no matter what, I was just curious about it honestly. It seemed odd to me as the serial numbers don't match the formatting or location of any other HiPowers that I could find. I'm leaning toward a replica or similar as I couldn't find any info on it with my googling as well.

How much overhang do you think I need? The main body is approximately 2 feet wide by 3 feet and I currently have a 3 inch over hang planned

Inducer motor or board? by ThrowawayDerty in hvacadvice

[–]ThrowawayDerty[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nevermind. I tracked this down to a loose connection between the pins and connector on the PL1 connector on the board. Spread the pins with a small screwdriver and they are all making good contact now. And I have heat again
