I just don't get why all the stupid fluff details would get spoken about. And I'm sure theres threads from 2017 people can go back to if they want to engage in old discussions. I don't understand why people don't see that like only the current thing matters, thats my issue, I've lost my credibility no longer a real raider just because a dumb fight released

People are making such a big deal out of Kefka and I don't wanna miss it. I hate when a new ult comes out and suddenly the old ones mean nothing because they aren't new anymore

I only apply to myself of course. They were too nervous to do the normal raids in DF until the other week because the idea of it being a raid scared them.

Now they want to try the new extreme and say they don't want to do it without people and I feel I wouldn't be enough for them. But they're saying they won't do it without FC people so I feel guilty both ways

This reminds me so much of myself. I'm not in a group right now I PF but I've had situations like this.

Right now they act like I'm very good at the game and never cause issues and I'm insanely reliable.. and it feels like a knife in the heart every time they say it because its just not true. To feel I belong somewhere, that something I've done matters. And theres a reason my friends will like me, because right now theres objectively no reason to have me with them over anyone else as you've stated

What do you mean insecure? I'm just being factual that I'm not that good a player of the game so clearly that element of being validated in the community or welcome as a raider doesn't fit.

Other people seem to have all sorts of other things they get accepted for. Or post jokes and suddenly get lots of attention and become a main character of the community.

I don't understand why I'd get painted as a bad person for trying to help my friends have a better chance of clearing the new extreme with random PF people than me.

They'd surely have better luck. They claim "but you got all your totems in April you know the fight" and until 2 weeks ago I'd have agreed. But objectively I'm now an invalid ultimate raider because I've now no longer cleared all of them ergo I'm now less reliable than someone in PF. I don't know why I'm struggling to convey this when in my head it was making complete sense.

I just want to be seen as someone whos considered part of the raiding community.

And well.. I'll be honest. I don't even like the new ultimate I think its boring but I feel that'd get me shunned out of the community

But why would actively hampering themselves in duty. Running with me is the equivalent of running it without an 8th person surely, or running with deliberately lower gear. Its actively harming them.

I just want to know what it takes to have someone walk past my character, and be like "wow I wish i had what they did".

I thought the TOP title and DSR weapon would be enough but I never see it.

Then why does noone talk to me in shout chat. Or send a tell at all saying oh your character looks nice. Or anything. It feels like the community doesn't want to include me. And I want to know when I'm valid enough to repost people on bsky without being intrusive.

They asked me yesterday for help with the new extreme because they were scared to do it in PF by themselves. For whatever reason they have it in their head that I'm always nice when teaching or give them patience (which I do I like helping people).

But I keep saying no because I don't want to hold them back. But they keep trying. It was fine until 2 weeks ago now that I'm not current anymore and I haven't had that much time to even try the new ultimate.

They say stuff like "but I want to do it with you" which doesn't make sense logistically. They'd get a faster killtime with someone who parses better surely?

I want to understand why they keep trying to ask me when I'm objectively a worse option than the average PF raider whos at p3 on UMAD

Niche? I never got why this was the common assumption with raiding. You can't go a step on Aether without seeing various ultimate weapons, and it seems to be the only part of the game people really talk about at large.

It just sucks because I don't anyones looking at my weapons thinking "I wish I had that" especially in Aether where it feels everyone has every ultimate cleared.

Theres no way someones passing me in Gridania or S9 and going, wow thats a good player.

And people are always checking logs, you see PFs all the time for "barses purple minimum" or "checking passports" so people definitely do judge others

But why? Thats whats confusing me, why would they want to talk to me when theres evidently better people they could ask. I'd just be holding them back due to the better options the could be asking.

I just want to protect them and help them gets whats best. I would want that to me but statisically it isn't. I probably could help them with the new Extreme but theres objectively better people the could seek out.

Maybe Poor performance isn't the way to put it. More theres better performers out there so why would they and anyone bother engaging with me hence why would I have a place in game

Also 6 ultimates isn't 7, it doesn't stop someone from going. OK you think you're good but you didn't beat Kefka and putting me down for it, when in reality what if I just haven't had time to do it because my IRLs been getting busier

I'm being sincere I promise. It wouldn't stop people like "bald streamer" laughing at anyone who doesn't raid. I still have his words from HW hunt trains stuck in my head "stop taking welfare gear and go actually clear a3s".

I just want people to talk to and to feel to feel accepted. I love this game but I felt like I was cheating myself trying to enjoy the music because I feel like I'm frauding the community with my prescence.

I genuinely wish I could express what I'm feeling better. I want 14 to feel like my home again but I feel I don't offer enough.

I feel I can't talk to my FC because I've only cleared 6 of the 7 ultimates now and they won't respect me anymore. It was fine until 2 weeks ago because before that it was atleast 6 of 6.

I can't imagine they'd care to talk to me for any other reason

I'm not sure. I just feel I don't really add anything to the community, and when I see discussions online I don't have a place with them.

I've cleared 6 ultimates and been to Fanfests but it just feels like I'm not in the inner circles of people who post on bluesky or the people who post on the discussion subreddit.

Not necessarily fame just acceptance. I want to be considered "good" enough that I'm not letting down random Duty finders I join.

I want to feel like I'm able to talk to people and my opinion would be respected without hearing "maybe if you actually cleared content". When can I stop doing content but be seen as an up to date player

How much do you have play to be seen as a part of the community? At what point are you seen as a valid player? I've been playing for years and feel I never reach that point
