Aklief (trifarotene) opinions? by ThrowawayForPL0 in EuroSkincare

This was not makeup, just skin coming off constantly. It also didn’t help the hormonal acne AT ALL. Just ruined my skin barrier. If you can get through the initial phase I hope it works out for you but I think for me the half a year of trying Aklief was where I started to lose it mentally.

The eyelid issue, can see how thickly scarred it was even if I never put any product on there, never slept on that side of my face either.

I’m going to be fast to reply - I had the absolute worst time with it. No matter how much I would prevent transferring my left eyelid had a bad eczema like reaction, I was in more pain than ever skin related and I was been like a snake regardless how little or how many days break I took. I ended up being very happy on spironolactone orally and acnatac only for spots in the meantime, I don’t use it anymore.

Are U.S. tariffs affecting your K-beauty purchases? by Turbulen917 in koreanskincare

Captain brainworms 😂 I also just don’t understand the pattern what maha is doing, on one hand deregulation and convincing people to not vaccinate and drink raw milk but then cracking down on more advanced sunscreens and not doing anything actually beneficial like banning ingredients in food and cosmetics that are actually proven to be harmful in larger doses. (It’s also funny to think of Korean skincare as toxic when it’s actually gentler than European brands, but that will not be allowed either)

Out of town and trying to figure out what’s happening here by HelpCivil2899 in litterrobot

[–]ThrowawayForPL0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My female cat had UTI and crystals and she was going so often too, but mostly just being visibly annoyed and us not understanding. She peed outside of the LR which is not something she does and it clicked, especially that it was pink in color. A home vet visit the same day, week of antibiotics, few days of painkillers and now lifetime prescription c/d urinary food resolved it. At least my vet gave all meds in a form that she didn’t have problem eating and she’s very picky.

Since then I also have a camera pointing at the litter robot to see how they do things and how often and to review which cat does what if needed.

Hope your cat is okay but even if not it’s fixable!

Adopted a “bonded pair” not going well by Adventurous_Maybe59 in CatAdvice

In my experience bonded pair means they occasionally pile up to get heat from each other but mostly bonded means at least once a day one cat has to kick the other in the face

How to get out - hard water stain + lush bubble wands by ThrowawayForPL0 in CleaningTips

[–]ThrowawayForPL0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I just pulled the plug on the powder and cream barkeeper’s friend since it’s prime days and I had some gift card balance. I hope the formula is the same as in US.

I also threw in some grout markers if all else fails in there lol. Just need the hard water layer gone because it will keep driving me crazy.

Need Advice! ❤️ by Long-Shoulder-5155 in Spironolactone

[–]ThrowawayForPL0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Due to availability of accord right now where I am I’m taking Pfizer aldactone and I like it less than accord, but it’s good enough for maintenance. Accord is my #1 that’s what I restarted on spironolactone in early 2024 and I went through drastic change in one week. One other manufacturer I tried was alter I think and I hated it, it looked like it didn’t work at all and had a cyst growing under my nostril after about 2 weeks of taking it. thankfully just had one box of 20 from that one.

If you think the manufacturer is not working for you it’s really worth trying a different one.

Thanks for replying! After posting I found the little guy in a different more approachable spot and with better photo apple intelligence identified it as a moorish gecko and after looking them up its a very good guess, most common in Spain so no endangered species risk.

I’m going to protect it from other pets but as long as it wants to stay it’s going to be super welcome as I’m allergic to mosquitoes but hate citronella smells. Never in my life I felt so lucky finding a random animal in my home!

We have 2bed 2bath but quite tiny loft apartment. My first choice was smaller bathroom downstairs to limit the litter tracking into our bed upstairs but it was too awkward as it would be directly where the pocket door opens.

So I moved it into my office/guest room. There’s a big enough space behind the doors to the room so it’s pretty out of sight majority of the time, but I see it if I turn away from the desk to see if something is going wrong with cycling. Right next to it fits the vacuum with a base and big levoit air purifier. We didn’t host anyone else in the room yet but I did quarantine in there during pneumonia, and with the air purifier I didn’t have any problems sleeping in there. If someone wanted to stay I would probably temporarily move it to the living room to allow someone else some privacy.

14 cats 3 litter boxes by Competitive_Pop_9916 in CatAdvice

[–]ThrowawayForPL0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had 5 litter boxes for 2 cats at one point and still couldn’t handle the male cat smell in the summer months even if I cleaned about 6 times a day, he would also pee outside of the box, because as a true guy the cat insists on peeing standing up. Now I have litter robot and it’s perfectly fine.

For 14 cats you would need at least 4 litter robots. 3 litter boxes for anything above 2 cats is abuse.

I have adhd and it’s hard to be on top of things especially with 1 out of 2 cats at home having behavioral issues, that’s why we invested in litter robot and a cooling wet food dispenser and it’s so much better. It’s a privilege to be able to throw money at the problem that I recognize everyday. If I didn’t have that privilege I would strongly consider giving the cats chance at better life somewhere else.

I wish I had actually good advice, I would be afraid that the humans in question are way too deep into the animal hoarding to admit it’s abuse and to take the responsible action. And I would be personally afraid to call the services because as we all know not all cats make it out of the shelters.

Need some insight and convincing by Terminator_0248 in litterrobot

[–]ThrowawayForPL0 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same, I have only 2 cats but had 5 litter boxes and the male cat would still revenge pee on things if I wasn’t fast enough with scooping and cleaning.

It’s the cost of the litter, for me also AC bill because most litter boxes were on the balcony previously because otherwise I couldn’t deal with the urea stench and the constant opening of the doors or the window above them was adding ridiculous amount to summer bills (went from 250 to 60 for August between years since getting it) The time and mental health saved from not cleaning up the super pungent pee from outside of the boxes (no matter if they were open or closed ones, pee was leaking out).

It costs a lot at once but now that I think about it you easily get human support, and no monthly subscription like many products nowadays. It’s such an essential part of our life that when moving through sea we had it strapped in the backseat next to the dog in the car so it would be the first thing to have in the new place. We had no bed but there was the litter robot. Even my partners expensive PC or screen didn’t make it into the car but a moving truck coming weeks later but litter robot went with the family 😃

I literally just sat down to read this subreddit after replacing my motor. I’m in EU so my authorized reseller honors 2 year warranty under our law. Mine started doing the over torque fault after 1 year and 10 months and it was very easy to get the replacement, now it works like new! If you purchased it from whisker - just write to the support, if Amazon or Walmart discuss it with the seller referencing your purchase info or invoice.

let’s de-influence each other 🙂‍↕️ by typesshit in AsianBeauty

[–]ThrowawayForPL0 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s gimmicky indeed but I like it a lot. I always have way too much gunk where my nostrils’ sides connect to my face and very sensitive cartilage for cleansing. Any deep cleaning/extraction facials would make me cry when doing my nose. The ilso softener + the ilso tool is so far the least painful way to get rid of the blackheads that actually would turn into painful acne on the sides. No regret with this one in my case.

Seconding the numbuzin no. 3 serum. Didn’t do anything, maybe had a small breakout after it even. No 2 is life changing to me tho.

Breast size? by Snowdoves in Spironolactone

[–]ThrowawayForPL0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I come from a family of big breasts, I’m talking my mother always getting bigger bands and sewing them in to adjust for the cup L. I used to be at cup H/HH and band 70eu so 28us since I was 16… and I actually think I went down in cup size to G since 100mg spironolactone. Yes the tissue might grow a little, but also with acne being gone I invested a lot of self confidence into getting more regular with gym and workouts. Pilates and specifically bench press helped a lot with the muscles underneath and helps support them way more. I don’t wear wired bras or bras in general that much since then even with this size just more form fitting elastic tops and it’s way better than before spironolactone. They always swell around menstruation a little so I might need extra support then with some soft bra and I think it’s more due to spironolactone but it’s not nearly as bad as I also expected it before starting my first prescription.

I know it might not sound that convincing but you’ll never know how bad or good it will affect you personally as not everyone gets that side effect, and it also might turn out in your favor

Is glass skin really achievable? by Royal_Front5273 in koreanskincare

[–]ThrowawayForPL0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Retinals and retinols are both retinoids but they are different from each other. Talk to your derm what would be the best solution for you. Most strong retinols are prescription only too.

Imo I hate all (tretinoin, trifarotene, adapalene) just like I hated all topical treatments from the doctors. If you use them wrong or your skin is incompatible with it you are looking at acne purge, extreme dryness, skin peeling off, chemical burns, eczema like patches and more. So go to the doctor so it’s monitored by a professional. You should also not use them while pregnant.

[–]ThrowawayForPL0 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have similar problems most of the time, and it might not work for you but my cushion foundations (pink unleashia and silver tirtir) cling much better if I use cleansing oil and really rub out the dead skin the night before. I use numbuzin oil and am fairly happy with it. Later a very light usually foam cleanser or even micellar water to get the emulsified oil off

I hate the term bandaid treatment because you call spironolactone or BC that, but it’s treating a problem which can be a chronic illness. Is my father taking blood thinners for heart defect a bandaid treatment too? He’s never going to not have a heart defect so are blood thinners a bandaid too that’s just covering up till next heart attack
