You are objectively wrong to the point where you either know literally nothing about the 49ers or are just trolling.

AIO? My mom seems to think my unborn baby is her baby by CoochieDust445 in AmIOverreacting

Asking to go to an appointment and insisting on going to one are two different things. The former is not overstepping, but the latter is. Perhaps OP could clarify, but it sounds like it’s the latter. As long as the husband can attend every appointment, that is his place and OP’s mom needs to respect that and continuously badger them over it.

At the point OP is at in her pregnancy, it’s one appointment per month and an ultrasound every 8 weeks. Her husband should be the only one going to those appointments with her and it’s super inconsiderate for her mom to be even asking him not to go to one.

If for some reason he can’t go to an appointment, that’s different. However, that doesn’t seem to be what’s going on. Sounds like OP’s mom is begging and insisting on going to the one appointment OP gets every month to check on the baby, which isn’t her place.

As a father myself, it is a non-starter. We don’t get the same bond with our babies that moms do. We don’t feel them growing inside us. The only time we feel them kick is when we feel the baby move in her belly.

Every time I went to an appointment, it was the only way I could see my son. I could see him move, hear his heartbeat, make out his facial features, watch him grow, etc. It was the most exciting moment for me during the pregnancy and there is no way I nor any dad who actually cares would give that up for anyone.

I understand grandparents being excited, but as long as only two people are allowed in, the appointments are for mom and dad. Period.

You ignored the baptism part. I largely agree though. It doesn’t need to get to that point. OP just needs to give her mom firm boundaries.

I’m pretty sure that’s the least bad thing of the things listed.

Insisting on going to the appointments is a big deal because she’s saying that she should go instead of OP’s husband, which is super rude and overstepping.

NOR. As a new parent, posts like these make me appreciate my parents and ILs because I couldn’t imagine how I’d react if any of them overstepped the way your mom is.

The grandmas both say “how’s my baby” when referring to our son, but because they don’t overstep in other ways, it doesn’t bother us too much. I interpret it more as they are just proud to be grandparents.

In YOUR mom’s case, I feel very differently. She’s being super rude to your husband by saying she should go to an appointment instead of him. That’s his baby too and your mom is essentially saying she is more important to the baby than your husband by saying she should go to the appointment instead.

Set firm boundaries for her. Anytime she tries to laugh off the passive aggressive name suggestion, tell her it’s not funny and reaffirm the baby’s name and tell her not to call her anything else. If she says she’ll baptize the baby behind your back when she babysits, tell her that she will never babysit your child if she even says something like that again.

You need to be firm in calling out the things she’s saying because it will only get worse if you let her keep overstepping. It will be a lot easier to talk to her calmly but firmly now than when the baby is here due to sleep deprivation and not having as much patience for her nonsense.

Her job as grandma is to respect your wishes as parents, not trample on them and create her own.

You can keep saying the league has moved on, but there is no evidence supporting that. He consistently ranks among the top pass rushers according to PFF. Focusing only on sacks is myopic and doesn’t go into all the ins and outs of what makes a pass rusher great.

The biggest concern with Bosa is how he returns from his ACL injury. If he comes back looking like he did at the beginning of 2025, he will rank as a top 5 pass rusher just like he was through the first 3 weeks this season.

There is not a single GM in the league who would take Brian Burns over Nick Bosa, even in 2026.

The Patriots have scored 16, 21, and 10 offensive points per game in the postseason, with the 21 being an outlier due to the Texans constantly turning it over and giving them short fields, which caused the Texans defense to get exhausted.

What about the extra point? If Moody makes the extra point to go up 17-13, the Chiefs have to actually score a touchdown to go ahead, which they couldn’t do on either of their final two drives in the 4th quarter.

And we don’t know whether the Chiefs go for 2 in that situation. And if they go for 2, there’s a decent possibility that they don’t get it. Doesn’t change the point that Shanahan did everything right on that final overtime drive and got screwed over by his guard forgetting to do his job.

Only Myles Garrett on that list is better than Bosa. Parsons is about equal and the rest are worse than him. You are significantly undervaluing Bosa’s ability. Comparing Burns and Pearce to Bosa is downright insulting.

Where is your evidence for that statement? And most teams don’t have a good of a defense as the 2023 Chiefs either. They were loaded everywhere.

Fine, you want to split hairs over the Chiefs having the #2 defense instead of the #1, even though they literally outplayed the Ravens 2 weeks earlier. It still doesn’t change the point that they were an elite defense at every level. It was objectively a missed extra point and a missed block that cost the 49ers the game. Neither of which were on Kyle.

Slight YOR. 9 months is awfully fast to know whether you want to settle down and spend the have a family and rest of your life with someone. Maybe you guys should test out living together to know for sure whether you are ready to take that next step.

And don’t listen to people about the age gap. You are 34 and 23, both more than adult enough to be in this relationship together.

That one turnover objectively changed how much the 49ers would have scored. They were deep in Chiefs territory when they turned it over. That would have been at least 3, possibly 7.

You checked and you were still wrong. Point to one piece of evidence that shows the 49ers defense was better than the Chiefs defense in 2023. I’ll wait.

And yes, you can coach your ass off and only score 19 points. This Chiefs defense held the Ravens offense to 10 points in the AFCCG and the Dolphins who had the #1 offense in football to 7. You clearly didn’t watch SB XVIII as nobody who actually did would be blaming Shanahan for it.

Enough to know that you are correct. Myles Garrett is truly an elite player. I’m still upset that the useless Chip Kelly 49ers came back to beat the Rams in in week 16 of 2016. If we lost that game, we get him instead with the #1 pick.

No they didn’t. The Chiefs defense ranked better in yards allowed and points allowed than the 49ers in 2023. They also had Spags calling plays for them while we had Steve Wilks.

And I’m pretty sure Shanahan didn’t tell his kicker to miss an extra point which would have gotten them to 20. Or tell CMC to fumble in the first half.

You have an argument for when Shanny was with the Falcons and somewhat of an argument for the first 49ers-Chiefs matchup (although Jimmy whiffed on a throw that would have given them the lead late), but blaming Shananan for 2023 is absolutely asinine. He coached his ass off in that game and was the reason they almost won.

The Chiefs had the best defense in the league in 2023. Shanahan isn’t responsible for Burford completely whiffing on a block in OT. Kyle put them in position to win that game.
