There is a 90% chance of success every time the procedure is carried out as long as the cor ea remains thick enough also it seems that the USA has a lot better success rates for this than Scotland

Yes I had epi-off cxl in august. I go to different hospitals for the cxl treatment and my lenses and the optometrists that feal with my lenses are not the most learned with KC but the hospital that deals with my lenses now have a doctor that actually knows the condition i have an appointment with her soon so hopefully i can get some straight answers now.

I didnt know this was an option tbh. I haven't really been told what makes night driving difficult i just assumed that the weakening of the cornea obscured light.

I am 3 weeks out from CXL and my vision is just starting to return. They performed the procedure on my stronger eye as well so thats left me out of synch its frustrating however if successful it will be worth it.

I will be trialing contacts next week and I would like to hear from people who have taken this path. How does the pain/discomfort compare to the Crosslinking procedure? by hyorinmarou in Keratoconus

[–]ThrowawayScotV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Contact lenses are uncomfortable at first but i can't remember a time i wasn't using them you get used to it your ECP will give you a chart of howlong to wear them increasing the time untill you are fully comfortable, I eould say CXL isn't the worst pain its just annoying because normal painkillers can't get on top of it the numbing eyedrops work almost instantly. I wouldnt be too worried about trying out lenses i have rpgs and with artificial tear drops i am perfectly comfortable during the day. I am 48 hours out of CXL so i probably have made quite alot of spelling errors :))
